I will be coming home tomorrow from Tijuana. I had surgery with Dr. Ramos Kelly on Jan 15th and had the absolute best experience hands down. I am feeling great today and walked all around to many stores. I hope this energy/excitement/pain free feeling lasts :-)

Hi all. I'm going in for surgery in 36 hours, 8am Tuesday in Portland Oregon. I'm excited. My nerves have died down and now I'm just looking forward to the future. I'm a bit emotional, which most men don't admit, but this whole process is bringing up all my dreams, hopes, nightmares, and memories both good and bad surrounding food, women and being fat. I look forward to posting in the future about how much I've lost.

Tomorrow is my day!!! Can't believe it is here. Down 10 lbs. from pre op diet. I am scared, nervous, excited, anxious. Etc. overall, I feel ready. Have had some dark thoughts wondering if I am making a huge mistake but I know that is just the nerves. Tomorrow I will be on the losers bench!!! Hallelujah!!!

8 more days. I have no anxiety but just ready for it to be over. Been on pre-op liquid diet since Jan 1. Ugh!

My worst fear has come true. It is 6:15 am I am dressed and ready to go to the hospital because I am supposed to be there by 7:00 am for my 9:30 surgery. I have been on liquids for two weeks, Clear Liquids for two days, done my bowel prep (yuck) . My doctors office calls to tell me that my doctor is very sick and canceling my surgery today with no idea when it will be rescheduled.

I can't believe it and beginning to wonder if this is a sign that I shouldn't be doing this....

NOOOOOOO.... How frustrating for you!! It would hang on for a day or two and blow up your dr office phone in the meantime for answers. You've done your hard part and I'm sure you'll be a priority as soon as he's well.

I'm 11d post op and down 30lbs since pre op started. Trust me! Best gift you could ever give yourself.

You are going to do great! The first day is a little tough but not nearly as painful as surviving a lifetime of being unhealthy and obese. That's what I told myself. I'm so glad I did this and you will be too. This will be the first step you take in loving yourself. First steps are always a doozy but once you clear it you'll never look back.

I just want everyone going to get surgery from Dr. Ortiz to consider asking him about the sleeve plication. That's what I got and so far so good.

Any suggestions for an app that tracks Protein and liquid? I've looked and really only found some protein trackers.

After two days of all day phone calls for a new approval due to a Dr. office mistake, my insurance approved my surgery today. That's good, because it is on Thursday! Yay! I am tired of this preop diet! I'll post my stats soon. Not sure I lost weight on this liquid diet. I've been less active, but stuck to it 100%.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
