Jen, get a pork roast or loin and cook it in the crock pot until its falling apart. Add your fav barbeque sauce. Also beef the same way s good. I find it goes down better than chicken breast.

I am having a hard time with my taste buds changing post op and the fact that I already don't care for milk, eggs, and fish. I've been trying various options for dressing up chicken but I'm pretty much over that too. Nothing tastes the same anymore and it's hard to eat something I don't like.

Jen have you tried natural and organic foods? My taste has changed also and I feel that I do better with natural meats that the animals weren't given antibiotics and the such. I hated soy milk prior to surgery but now it tastes like almonds to me and I like it. It's a challenge for me to find foods that taste good because I tend to get bored easily with food. I can't force myself to eat something just because it's good for me if I don't like the taste either.

Jen, how about turkey or tofu?

I have never really been a fan of turkey nor tofu. I'll try turkey again this Thanksgiving and see how it sits with me. That's about the only time I eat it lol. I can revisit tofu, but how high in Protein is it? I'm struggling to find foods I can tolerate or like that are high in protein.

I'll try the pulled pork/beef again now that I'm post op. I usually eat it with bread, but that's obviously not an option right now. I'm only about 4 weeks out and I'm not supposed to reintroduce red meats until 4 months post op. It's hard for the tummy to digest, even more so after surgery.

I am the exact same way lol. I haven't tried the organic foods yet. I like soy milk and coconut milk so maybe I'll pick up some of that. I thought I was told to avoid those tho because they were higher in calories or fats and sugars or something. I forget. But at this rate I have to do something.

I meet with the dietician on Monday and will talk things over with her. I'm the kind of person who would happy with just fruits and veggies and the occasional steak. I'm not big on too many meats and I find that I end up throwing away more food than I actually eat, which is a waste of food and money.

How are people's experiences with apples or clementines? They are my fav fall fruits snd I feel like they would be good as a dessert snack at night when I need a little something or to have in my bag when I am at the library tutoring and don't get home until 8 pm

I started eating small gala apples last week. I just make sure I peel them and then cut them up. I didnt have any problems at all. I am 6 weeks out and have been on a 3 week stall I just cant seem to get past. Very frustrating. Can some of u who are also 6 weeks out give me a list of what all you eat in 1 day. A sample menu. I dont think I am eating too much. I dont go over 800 to 900 calories in a day. I would really appreciate some of your sample menus.

Is anyone still having problems with Constipation? I am wondering if the Iron in my Vitamin is causing this. I just started taking some Miralax. Are we supposed to take that daily? Doesnt sound like a very good idea. What is everyone else doing? I am trying to stay positive about this surgery but between my 3 week stall and constipation I am very discouraged.

I take miralax every other day. It is not supposed to be habit forming and adds Water to your bowel. It has been a great solution for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
