I don't know about everyone else but I'm SO tired of hearing "you have such a pretty face". People just don't realize how messed up that "compliment" is.

Friends! Look what I did for my co-workers today! We don't have a Panera in our town and I was at a Dr. Appointment in a nearby town and offered to pick them all up lunch. Whew! That was a good test! I got unsweetened tea for myself.

OR...when you start to lose weight and they say, "Wow, you're losing weight--your face is really skinny!!" Well, what about my ass?? :D

OK...it's a done deal. I got my clearance AGAIN for surgery on the 21st!! I am so blessed to have a wonderful workplace where they understand and support all of this. I've had to change my date twice! 3 times the charm, eh? LOL

I normally take public transportation to work. I take a train and then when in DC, hop on the metro for a few stops. The whole process from my front door to work is just under 2.5 hours. Yup. Each way.

However, I'm not willing to chance it again so, I'll be driving to work all this week. And guess what? It took me 3 hours to get in to work today! Eeekkk! So glad I don't drive every day normally!

Anyway, just gabbing here. I'm glad that my date is finally coming. Now, I just have to stay healthy! Darn flu was horrible!

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

Sherrib4health where are you from? I grew up in Northern Virginia right outside of DC and just moved to Florida from there last year.

I'm trying so hard to NOT call my surgeons office! I got my approval last week but still no surgery date. Not even a call to set up my pre surgery stuff. The waiting is torture.

Mine called me the same day I got approved. It wouldn't hurt to call and just check. My pre-surgery appointment was booked about a week after that.

Ok everyone, tell me if this is silly...I cannot wait to buy one of those cute sequined Victoria Secret "Pink" sweatsuits when I can fit into one! I know I'm 45 years old but dang it....I want one!!

I just turned 42, we are NOT too old for one of those!! :P My 21 yr old daughter will be so jealous!

I talked to them last Thursday when I got my approval. The surgery scheduler said she'd be calling late this week or early next week to get my date. "There are a lot of people ahead of you" is what she told me. I'm afraid to tick her off...

I'm afraid to be a bug-a-boo! I don't want to get pushed to the end of the line for calling too much.

I don't know what that would make me as I happened to be in the phone with insurance while they approved it and then promptly called my surgeon's office to let them know, lol. Didn't get pushed back.

So, my office is having the ice cream social right now. I am hiding in my cubicle eating my little 2 cup salad. Ugh...

Hello feeling good after hour & 15 minute surgery. Hour & half in PACU & now in a room with 3 beds on a wonderful all Female Patient floor. When I came out of the OR & woke up I had a little difficulty breathing because I don't do well laying on my back so soon as I got to PACU they raised my bed. By the way I asked for the patch but my anesthesiologist said unless I get motion sickness he wanted to go with a mixture he uses based on each patients med history. Plus I asked him to monitor my brain activity with a head band they stick across your forehead I had more pain in my shoulder then my stomach a combo of having my arms stretched out like wings by anesthesia & then gas pain. The RN's put warm packs on the shoulder & then gave me Tylenol it got better but took until I came up to my room before truly improved. I've been pushing the buttons to dispense pain med as soon as I feel even a bit of incision pain which is keeping me pain free. Nothing to drink till tomorrow but they gave me a mouth swab & cup of Water to swab my tongue & teeth which is keeping me from drying out. I'm a little tired but no nap yet ....

My surgeon Dr Christine Ren Fielding was wonderful and played Katy perry ' Roar" at my request just before I drifted off & again when they brought me back out of anesthesia.

My best tools. Having my IPad & Noise canceling headphones so I could play my music to calm me as we drove to hospital, waited in preOp & in Recovery.

If I can urinate by tomorrow AM they will discharge me Wednesday . View from my room. attachment=48669:ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1413315201.082723.jpg]

Yay!!! So glad everything went pretty good!! So did the meds they give you work for nausea then? I love that your surgeon played "Roar" for you!! Hopefully that darn gas works itself out soon! It sounds like from everyone that's had their surgery, we should expect the gas discomfort. Darn! Oh my gosh--your view is amazing!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
