What does your doctor say? Mine says one year, which I followed.

My NUT was kind of judgey and acted like you were an alcoholic if you ever wanted to drink again.

I waited 3 months. I'm 6 months out now and I'll have a couple of drinks a month. Usually wine or sometimes beer that I let fizz out for a bit. I do get drunk super fast and also sober up super fast. I never get sick and I don't get a headache or anything. You're basically going to have to learn to drink again. I just pace myself.

I waited almost 6 months.

At that point I had heard from many others that we'd all be lightweights.

Unfortunately that just isn't true for me and I can easily drink just as much as I could pre-surgery.

I do try to keep it to special occasions now, as I know all of those empty calories is only going against me trying to achieve my goal, but being a single guy in my mid-30s, going the bars is just going to be a necessity sometimes.

I had some wine when my husband and I went out for our anniversary earlier this month, so I guess I was just under 8 weeks out. I didn't find that it affected me any differently than before, but I haven't had anything to drink since then.

Indulge, but remember alcohol is sugar so take it slow

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
