New to fifties group

Hi all, I joined this forum in 2011 anticipating surgery, but my employer's insurance would not approve, but then I came down with leukemia and that totally shot it out of the Water. But I am back and hope it will be happening before the end of the year, with Medicare since I had to stop working.

I am looking for anyone who has been sleeved or going to be for support and encouragement.

I hope some will pick this group to communicate with others.

@@Kathy812, been thinking about you, sounds like you have been coming along well. The mushies sound doable. Glad that you are feeling doing good.

@@#9grammy, you've been on my mind today. Sounds like things went well, glad that the pain is not too bad. Keep us posted !!

@@#9grammy Yay Grammy!! So glad you're doing so well. Continued success!

@@#9grammy you came through like the trooper you are. Congratulations! Now get some rest!

@@Kathy812 you've last 25 pounds already! That is so amazing!

"Lost" I mean. Forget how to spell sometimes. :-)

First night is ruff, no it's TOUGH! can't keep the eyes open yet your not sleeping or are you?

Lots of pain where the stomach was is , nothing in port areas.

Time to walk.... Later

Morning @@#9grammy! The fact that you can end that report by saying you're heading out for a walk just shows how strong you are internally. No amount of pain is going to keep you down; you've got this!

@@The Candidate thank you. But let me keep it in perspective. I lost 15 in the preop & 10 post sugery but at the end of the day 25 is 25!! So I am happy.

@@#9grammy I agree w/candidate. I couldn't communicate the first three days. Hang in there, my first week was difficult.i am in week two & feel so much better.

Has anyone talked to vsglady? I haven't heard from her since her surgery, a little concerned.

Hey girls! I've been gone for a few days because my cousin's husband is at Mayo dying of multiple myeloma cancer and it has been just awful. It makes me happy to see all of the successes going on here, so Congrats to all the new sleevers! Happy I lost another 2 lbs and it's getting much easier as far as tracking my food and getting my daily steps in. I'm still loving my Jawbone Up24 fitness armband. Thanks for telling me how to get my ticker too. I've got to get to bed early because, I'm exhausted. Keep up the good work everyone!

Summer

@@traveler60 good luck and safe travels. Please let us know how you doing!

Hi everyone, just found this and would love to be a part of the group!

I'm 53, was sleeved 9/16 ... 6 weeks yesterday . It's been a roller-coaster for me, but my only regret is not having this surgery earlier!!!

I'm in my 2nd stall already, but I'm ok with that. I just keep focusing on the big picture. I'm down 41.5 lbs including my 2 week pre- op diet. I haven't been under 200 in over 8 years and I'm 7.5lbs away and already my BMI went from 45 ( morbidly obese) to 38 (never thought I'd be happy to be Obese) LOL
