  1. Considering sleeve to bypass revision primarily for severe GERd. Regained 30lbs of 90lb loss so that’s not the issue, but on multiple meds for reflux. Anyone had revision for that reason and was it worth it?
  2. I'm in ! 2.5 years post sleeve, did great for 20 months , got to goal but in last 6 months have regained 25lbs
  3. Thanks Queen. I'm in.,I'll start the 5:2 on Monday. I'm seeing a pain specialist on Tuesday, so hopefully they can do something for my back so I can start exercising again as well

  5. Need some help. I haven't been on the forum for a while. I did great my first year got to goal was staying active and doing well. 4 months ago I hurt my back and have been very limited in my activity and in a fair amount of pain, in addition my life has been very stressful. I am now hungry all the time just like before.,I am eating too many carbs and grazing but I am having a hard time getting back on track. I have gained 12 lbs and am terrified I will keep gaining. Any advice,,suggestions or a kick in the behind will be appreciated

  15. I was sleeved las t October at 54. Off BP and diabetes meds. Able to bend over and touch my toes. I don't get short of breath just walking across the parking lot. It's good to look better but it is awesome to feel better! I am looking forward to many more active years. This is the best thing I ever did for myself. Don't worry about age, you can be old at 40 and young at 60. My advice is go for it
  16. @LannieG good luck tomorrow and welcome to your new self! Queen, I just read your book. Awesome, I already posted a review on Amazon

  20. Hey Queen congrats on your book! I can't wait to read it. I had my 6 month nut appointment yesterday and I am at goal. For the first time in over 30 years I am no longer overweight. My weight is 140. I am going to try to lose another 5 to give me some wiggle room. My biggest concern right now is my hair. It really fell out and then stopped growing so I had it cut really short. My nails also broke off and quit growing. I am now seeing some nail growth and hope the hair follows. I still have a hard time getting my protein in because I am not a big meat eater and it is hard to eat at work but I am am working on it. This site has been so important in supporting me. I know the rest of my life I will need to continue to follow the rules and keep moving. The sleeve is the best gift I ever gave myself.

  23. @LannieG I am so sorry about your brother and all the struggles you have had trying to get to surgery. Hopefully you will get there soon. I am so grateful for my sleeve. It is not easy but it is a wonderful tool. Someone actually called me skinny yesterday. I know I'm not really but it felt good. I feel like a new person, back and knee pain about gone, no BP or diabetes meds. I have a new problem of getting comfortable with hip and shoulder bones that don't have padding(who knew I had those) to all of you who are early in the process hang in there through the bumps and stalls it is worth it. All the support on this site is great!

  25. Thanks to everyone for the comments on body image. I finally went out and bought some new clothes that fit and that helps some. I guess it will be a life long process. On a wonderful note I bought size 8 petite pants. Haven't ever fit into that size. Still bigger on top, that back fat is hard to get rid of, but it was exciting to keep sending clothes back for smaller sizes
  26. I have a question for those of you that have lost a fair amount of weight. Do any of you still see yourself as fat? I have lost 55lbs and people tell me every day how good I look, but when I look in the mirror I still see the obese me. I guess part of the problem is the only time in my adult life I weighed this little I was in my 30's and a much smaller size than the same weight in my 50's. Intellectually I know my weight loss is great but thinking it and feeling it are different. I guess I'm wondering if it is just me or do others have the same issue
  27. congratulations! It will be here before you know it

  31. I had surgery in Mexico October 30th and everything went great. I followed up once with my PCP when I got back. I did choose to see a nutritionist with the local bariatric surgery program and have found it to be very helpful. It is worth the cost to me. Since this is my new life a hundred dollars every 6-8 weeks on top of the surgery cost is well worth it, especially since I am saving way more than that on the cost of food.
  32. @@Queen you are my inspiration so I know you can do it! I am officially overweight- woo hoo!! It has been a very long time since I have not been obese and it feels great. @@LisaGB I like Unjury chocolate for shakes but use the Genepro to mix with hot chocolate or yogurt for an extra protein boost. @LanieG I know you date will be coming soon, hang in there,
