No more diabeetus medications. My sugar levels always hover around 90 now. Before I went through the program they were out of control on two different medications.

Being able to shop at the normal stores instead of the plus sized stores or online only. It's so nice to pick up a shirt in a store and try it on.

Being able to complete the Body Works plus Abs class at my gym. I'm not the thinnest person in it but I can do the entire thing!

3 months after surgery, I can 1) keep up with my friends when we go to the Disney theme parks. 2) I can wear my favorite jeans (that are now too big!) that I haven't worn in almost 3 years. And 3) I'm no longer at risk for developing diabetes.

The diabetes thing was one of the main reasons for me getting the surgery. My grandpa, who just passed away 3 weeks ago, had diabetes. He was my biggest supporter in my weight loss surgery, mostly because he didn't want me to have to deal with all of the health issues that he had been dealing with most of his life. He was always so proud of me when I would give him updates! Him and my grandma said that when I got down to my final weight after the surgery, that they would buy me my new wardrobe. I now have more motivation than ever to keep up my weight loss to make him proud!

Diabetes scares the heck out of me Ginger, seeing my husband and his problems for over 35 years, and it was getting worse. It no longer rules our lives. God Bless!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
