Feeling incredibly sore today but my surgery was delayed until 6pm yesterday so not quite 24 hours in! No sickness or gas to note just feeling very uncomfortable! Very bumpy journey home but once in my bed I had a little snooze and now awake waiting for my husband and 2 sons to come home. I haven't had too much to drink today as feeling so nervous on how much is too much etc.... But my mouth Is so dry and must keep sipping. I think today I'll just stick with Water and maybe try some Soup or something tomorrow.

Hi there I was banded June 28th I'm now four days post op. I feel great. I wanted to drop in and wish you the best luck on your new joinery as I am beginning mine.

I am drinking lots of Jello tea coffee juice watered down no sugar and eating Popsicles that are no sugar added as well. Lots of chicken broth adding different glaciers so I don't get sick.

There third and fourth day is the hardest I think as I am super tired yesterday and today I feel well rested and itchy from the healing process of the body.

Keep in touch

Congrats...I had some pain. Mostly in my left shoulder. My surgery was the 26th and honestly I feel pretty darn good today. It will be worth it!!

I was just banded on July 3. It's been smooth sailing so far. Just remember to have some variety on your menu when you get to the purée stage.

Hi I'm now day 5 post op. Have managed some very small amounts of smooth Soup and a very thin fat free yogurt yesterday. Before that it was just Water only as I didn't really have an appetite at all. I'm forcing myself to eat something as I do feel quite dizzy at times.

I'm not sure if any of you feel the same but I'm so nervous as to how much to eat as if you eat too much you will be sick and dry heave etc so I don't want to eat hardly anything just in case!

Feeling heaps better today- have had some pain the last few days but have been as mobile as possible and helped round the house with as much as I can reach! Horrible cough though which is driving me nuts as it's really hard to cough due to all the wounds pulling!!

Overall I'm so shocked with how it's going so far- really thought it would be harder than this! I'm currently 8kg since the start of the liver diet 10 days pre op and so down to now 96kg. Xx

For me you just "know" when you need to stop eating. Keep you're Protein at 2 oz and blend it way up. If it's stringy it won't work.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
