I don't have any help/suggestions for the work out part.

Is it possible that your body is just "done" and comfortable where you are??

I know, for myself, I chose 140 as my goal based on the "charts" and what I would "like" to eventually reach….but I often wonder if that is something I can actually achieve.

Plus with the 48 pounds I have left to reach that "goal" I think 8-10 pounds may possibly be all the extra hanging belly fat I have that someday I hope to have removed????

Just something to think about….best of luck to you!

I have the exact same problem as you do. Ive been stuck at 160 lbs for over a year, and although id like to get to 140, I think im "done " too. My Dr. doesnt agree, he says " just exercise little more and cut back some calories" . But I log my food on MFP almost every day,( 1200-1400 calories) and swim 3x aweek and run 2 miles 1-2 x a week, so im not sure what else to do . Anyone have any advice ?? Anyone??

I don't feel so alone now. Started at 245, the lowest I got was 170, goal is 150. About 9 months ago, I TOTALLY stopped losing weight. Then about 6 months ago, I noticed my band was feeling kinda tight and I was getting full fast...and staying full for a loooong time! I knew something was "different", but the pounds started moving again, so I was excited! But over the past 6 months, it became more difficult to eat and keep foods down. It seemed at least 2 out of my 3 meals I ended up in the bathroom. So, I started getting by on slider foods...and put 5 lbs. back on. About 3 weeks ago, my band became so tight that NOTHING would go down - not even my saliva! For 3 days, I suffered and finally went to my surgeon fearing the worst (a slip), but praying that it wasn't. Apparently, at some point, my stomach became irritated (probably from vomiting), causing swelling and resulting in my band becoming super tight, so he removed most of the Fluid to allow my stomach to heal (thank God, no slip). Since my unfill, I've gained 5 lbs!!! I'm hungry all the time and my appetite is insatiable!!! I upped my exercise last week and STILL gained 2 lbs! I'm frustrated and feel defeated. Up to 179 and I was already struggling to get the last 20 lbs. off. Seems the harder I try, the more obstacles I face, but I refuse to give up! Gonna try adding an extra workout day, increase my time, and up my Water consumption a little more. I go back to my surgeon on 5/16 and PRAYING for my fluid back!

Carb cycling came up on another thread -- some people have success with low carb switching out with higher carb day then back to low, etc. I think the body becomes accustomed to something and needs a real change-up -- in exercise as well as diet -- to be prompted into letting go of status quo. Good news we aren't stuck with those big number status quos any longer. Phew!

Another idea might be a day or two of shakes or juice fasting. I am still in early days of losing -- six months out soon and nearing my halfway goal. I know it will be harder the closer I am to goal. Hoping the metabolic burn I am introducing now will tide me through.

Oh, one more idea and I know this is a little out there -- visualization. I've been picturing the number on the scale -- really picturing it with definition, those clock-radio like lines of the digital scale, how they form a 4, a 2, a zero, etc. So I just keep imagining the number I want to see and I keep counting down all the way to my goal number. A form of self- hypnosis....we tell our bodies what we want? I want 148 so I picture that. So, do you think I'm nuts, lol?!

I had a fill over a month ago that was aggressive and nearly collapsed my esophagus - so he unfilled me 4 cc's and I'm able to eat whatever I want - no restriction at all. The good news was I lost 10lbs in that one week time and over the month I've been able to sustain the loss but no further movement on the stupid scale... I go back in one week to get a fill and I cannot wait, and I'm wondering how my weight loss will go...???

I'm at 184, 38 lbs in 6 months since surgery and I really want to get to 140, albeit I'm wondering if 150 will be where my body stops... I'm praying that by my b'day August 7th I see 150 - oh please oh please :)

Walking this journey with y'all and trying to keep positive.

I am in the same boat. I'm up and down the same 5lbs for the last 3 1/2 years, since getting banded and losing about 60lbs. I'm at the low end of that 5lbs right now, after my fill a little over a week ago. I've not lost anything in 4 days now, so am going to work on getting in more Protein and hope that helps. I need to make sure I'm getting enough Water also.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
