Hello!

Starting pre-op diet tomorrow which is strictly liquids. However I am allowed a low carb yogurt daily. Does anyone know of a low carb yogurt aside from Kroger?? I live on Long Island so there isn't a Kroger nearby.

Thanks :)

Generally any Greek yogurt is considered low carb. My fav is the dannon light and fit. Its around 80 calories per container with 9 carbs. But there are many different brands. I would keep to the ones with 100 calories or less.

A bit of info I recently discovered is the difference between regular and Greek yogurt. With greek yogurt the whey is strained off. This concentrates the Protein and gets rid of much of the carbs that are in regular yogurt.

pre-op diet tomorrow

@@law001

FAGE plain yogurt has 8 carbs

20 gr of Protein :)

i put fresh blueberries and alittle granola on top :)

can't get much better than that :)

yum yum :)

as @@Bob2013 said "light and fit" is great

but it only has 12 gr of Protein opposed to 20gr in FAGE

Light and Fit has only 80- calories

FAGE has 150!!!!

both are great!!!!

good luck with pre-op, such fun!!!! (if you don't mind a little torture!!!)

only kidding, you'll be fine

good luck with surgery

speedy recovery

I actually mix about 2-3 tbsp. of fage to the dannon greek light and fit vanilla. Boosts up the Protein with very few extra calories/carbs

Also look at the sugar content. I also eat the Dannon lite and fit because the sugar is less than most Greek yogurts.

San on light and fit is not Greek yogurt... I would watch the sugar content cause typically when something is low fat it's high in augar

Just a head's up too - there's a couple of low carb ones that advertise themselves that way (Carb Smart is one) and I have to say I liked the idea until I really read the package. It doesn't even claim it's yogurt! It's nearly all chemicals and junk, but hey, low carb is hot so it sells. Just read the labels to make sure you're getting what you really want.

Light and Fit by Dannon is the only greek yogurt that i found that is low carb that comes in flavors. You can also get any plain greek yoghurt and add low carb fruits to it like strawberries or other berries. At first I would take a package of sugar free Jello powder and add it to the plain yogurt to give it a yummy flavor. I'd use the lime sugar free Jello powder and mix it with plain greek yoghurt. It reminded me of key lime pie.... I love the Light and Fit individual containers of greek yoghurt to grab in a hurry....

I am not sure where you are looking but Dannon light and fit greek yogurt is greek yogurt.

And as far as the sugar, you cannot get much sugar in 80 calories.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
