OK.... so, yesterday you vowed to start your diet TODAY. How are you doing? Did you make it through your first day?

SElaine,

Thanks for asking...I did pretty good (only 1 real slip). I drank a Slim Fast low carb ptn drink for Breakfast, and had BAD cramps and diarrhea w/in 2-3 hours. Anyone else?? I just drank lots of Water, and some flavored water (Propel). Then, at the baby shower, I had about 1 oz of grilled chicken breat. I DID eat a little cake (UGH!). I am so weak!

For supper, I would have had another shake, but I just didn't want to go through the cramps, etc again, so I had some grilled veggies (about 1 cup). And, I drank LOTS of Water and tea. I have been off Diet Coke for nearly a week now (have had 2 or 3 in a week...down from 6-8 a day) and find myself craving it less and less.

Today I will try a different ptn drink and see if I do better. I will also have broth and SF Jello. Wish me luck!

And CrabCake...I have tried copying the URL to my signature box and it comes up in my signature as the link. Do I need to eliminate any of the ()'s or anything?? (or those boxy ones). Thanks for your input!

wen and twinmommy- I'm soooo glad you guys are right there with me every day! So day four is easier but I have a question for you both. How are your bowels working. Mine aren't since I started on the protein/clear liquids/vitamin pre-op. Anyone else have this issue?

The bad breath is still gross but the headaches are better. I'm down about six puonds since I started pre-op but considering how few calories I am eating I thought it might be more. I told the fam they would have to do their own grocery shopping today cuz I'm not strong enough to go in there yet. They are suffering but it will be worth it to have a skinny mom.

Let's do day four together!!!!

Hi all May Bandsters! I am glad to hear that those of you who have had your surgery are doing pretty well. Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

So, I have a question. In order to get ready and motivated (and to keep my nerves from driving me insane while waiting for my surgery), I went shopping and bought a "goal" outfit. It was nice to buy something of the rack instead of going to a "big girl" store. My outfit is hanging in my closet so I see it everytime I walk in there. Anyone else do anything special as motivation?

Hello Bandsters,

My name is Patty and my date is May 14th.

I wanted to tell Laureli that I also bought an outfit..... except I have bought several. I'm a thriftstore addict and so for the last year when I saw that "one of a kind" item, I bought it. I also live down the street from Disneyland and that glittered mickey jacket that I got is my daily reminder of things to come. Good luck on the girls who have surgery tomorrow -- I'll say a little prayer for you all :(

Hugs,

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
