My pre-op diet goal set by my surgeon is to have 60 grams of Protein and 35 grams of Fiber daily. I'm having a very hard time getting the fiber in. What are some good supplements and high fiber cereal(That aren't terrible tasting) that will help with this issue.

Thanks,

If you're having a hard time getting in the recommended fiber, you can add Benefiber to your food. It's completely tasteless, and a good way to get in some extra on top of your fruit, veggies and 100% whole grains. I happen to love All Bran Cereal, but since being banded, I no longer eat cereals.

Cereals are OK in moderation but they're high in carbs and if you add milk to them they become a slider food.

Very high Fiber foods include:

Most all Beans 1 cup =around 15 g

Peas

Raspberries

Blackberries

Broccoli

Pears

Avacados

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I purchased some benafiber today. I'm trying to get as much as I can through healthy foods and will supplement the rest.

Cereal is a dangerous food for me. It's like dessert, and I can't control it. I was never a big cereal eater, unless it was after dinner

Buy some Flax Seed, it's found in the baking isle, excellent source of Fiber and Omega 3's, just sprinkle it on your food

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
