I was in the same situation the same time last week sunday. My surgery was on the 17th and it is now a week later and I've been out shopping Friday Saturday and today you will be okay it's not a big deal just think of the long term goals and remembered nothing tastes as good as skinny feels

Oops! Who put the send button so close to my iPad keyboard?! LOL

Anyway, now I'm getting nervous and having a hard time sleeping. I know it's normal, so I'm letting it happen. This is NOT the time to second-guess myself. I'm so happy to hear all your stories. It's been motivational and calming. Thank you to all who've shared their experiences.

I am just a few hours away. Nervous, but not overly so. I plan on staying awake all night since I have to leave at 4 in the morning to arrive at the center at 5am (6am Eastern). I'll sleep when they anesthetize me...lol! All evening I have been thinking about a Sonic chicken sandwich on a Ciabatta bun...stoopid commercials!

I am so happy that this is finally about to take place. Good luck to everyone undergoing this procedure...may we wake up skinnier and healthier!!!!

It's totally normal. I went through it too. It will all be alright. Mine went off without a hitch and I had an easy recovery. You got this, calm down, breathe, and remember why you are doing this. A new you! Good luck!

Well I got sleeved yesterday. And other than the pain it isn't so bad. I just wasn't 'to prepared for it to hurt so much. But it is bearable.

Sometimes you have to do something you've never done before to get to where you want to be. It's definitely scary and I'm sure most of us are/were terrified at that last moment before the operation. Just remember why you are doing it and maintain your focus. You will wake up and your new life will begin. Something you've been wishing for for a long time is about to come true. Be proud of your journey and stay focused. Celebrate!!!! You'll be fine:)

Glad you came through OK!

When I was still quite groggy my family was present and one of them asked me how I was doing. I said in a drug stupor," Miserable! ...but happy!"

They still kid me about that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
