Feeling guilty for living in Florida...

Thanks for rubbing it in. We're getting another 12+ inches of snow today in New England.

Wow! Stay safe!

If you have any wind the drifts are going to be monstrous!

When I was a kid I remember walking on a tall ice crusted drift which gave way and left me looking at the hole over my head and thinking I was trapped. Not for long, hollering for mommy got action from my neighbors and soon mom was hauling her baby boy out of his frozen prison. As long as I can avoid sink holes here I'll be good. :D

Well, folks, when I grew up I lived in North dakota. I lived in Maryland, where for some reason it likes to blizzard around Washington's birthday. I remember being an essential employee, so digging my car out, and being one of the brave souls who drove an hour to work and spending the night there because someone had to. Living in the Washington,D.C. area noting really shuts down, even when the Fed. Govt. isn't at work.

So, my hubby and I chose Florida to retire. We love watching the other's who have to be to work. (It was sad news yesterday when the snow plaw killed the 8 month pregnant mother. But the y were able to do a cs on teh mom and bring the baby out alive! )

Best wishes to all my Northern Friends, including carolinagirl who got hit by the storms too! Karen..aka..kll724

PS: I don't feel guilty living in Florida, I paid my dues!

I'm from Wisconsin...two of the ten coldest winter cities ( out if the top ten) are right here in Wisconsin. I've lived in Colorado and San Diego, but ended back here because of family. But my parents are gone, my kids are grown, and after this winter, I told my husband that I will not grow old here..no way. Thinking the Carolinas, maybe. I'd go back to So Cal in a heartbeat, but housing costs are ridiculous. I am going somewhere, anywhere!

I have relatives in Greensboro, NC. Beautiful area, the weather this year is not typical, even they are talking Florida.. They have pretty mild winters though, in my memory.

We shared a grilled snapper basket with mango salsa, at lunch today at a place called Safe Harbor in Mayport, FL, a quaint fishing village near Jacksonville Beach. The Intracoastal Waterway was our view, along with shrimp boats and pelicans. It was a nice 65 degrees, eating outside on the deck. Even if you cannot be in Florida with us, maybe we can give you a view in your mind of why we love Florida. Florida seafood is awesome! Best wishes everyone!

It started out raining for about 15 minuyes, and was cool and breezy, yesterday. We were holding a walkathon at our church and it was perfect after the rain for that. My walking partner and I walked about 5 miles. My church group earned aver $500.00 in our walkathon for the homeless. Today the sun is out and it looks nice, I haven't been out yet!

Yes Gman, downtown Jacksonville from the back of the boat. Beautiful City I love. You are missing out on that cruise, let me tell you! Get a room with a balcony and sit there watching the ocean go by is the sweetest thing ever. Guess you can tell I love being on the Water. Sarasota is lovely. I love the West Coast. Our daughter lives in Pensacola near the Alabama line. I am in heaven anywhere there is water.

I thought it was jax! Im from jax beach but on sanibel this week visiting my parents. Sanibel is gorgeous this time of year. To quote someone on this board, it doesn't suck. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
