How often did y'all eat at 16 days post op. I'm not sure if I'm eating to often. I'm hungry about every 3 hours. Granted I don't eat a lot but is it normal?

Im glad im not alone!!. Ive heard of the 3 week stall but not the 10 day post op stall :(. Depressing!!

Well I am pretty much positive I just invented the 6 day stall. Not joking.

Six days after surgery I had lost a STUPID amount of weight... Like 19 lbs. and since then, not another pound. Regardless of the fact that I have only been eating about 500-600 calories of Water and Protein Shakes. Not one single more pound. And it's been four more days.

There is NO WAY my body isn't using these fat stores to keep everything going --- especially since I am only providing 500 calories a day and am trying to walk/move where possible.

So yep, I'm betting money I discovered the world's shortest six day stall.

Don't doubt yourself.... To not lose would defy physics. If you use more than you eat, you will lose --- eventually.

Have faith. :)

I try to eat as normally as possible. Breakfast, lunch, dinner & 2 Snacks. My doc said not to graze all day trying to get food in. I eat what I can, if I'm unable to eat I skip the meal & do Protein. I get 60-80g of protein everyday & log my foods with my fitnesspal app. I also exercise everyday. I'm determined, this surgery WILL work for me. No stalls yet.

Also my doc & my NUT both told me the purpose of reintroducing foods right now is to gauge our bodies reactions to those foods. We can't eat enough to get nutrition from it yet. For now, our protein & Vitamin supplements are our nutrients.

Am I doing to much? I am 17 days post op. When I went for my 2 mile walk I decided to jog some if it. I jogged a quarter of a mile and walked the rest. Everyone seems to think I'm pushing myself to hard. Is it true and I'm just being hard headed?

I don't think light jogging will hurt, long as your keeping your Protein high. Remember people who have not had WLS are not going to understand this new lifestyle.

Pooh bear, keep up the support. You know how important it is.

For the stalls, i used to work with the army soldiers who were over weight. Remember to eat meals. Don't graze. Even if i means getting up earlier. Eat, drink Water, eat, drink water. It is energy and waste removal. Try to get. 800 cal. Less and you lose it slow because of starvation. But come on, you will lose it. No fat people who are starving. Just takes longer amd we don't look as good or have as much energy.

Just remember that it takes about 4 weeks for your muscles to heal. Be careful you do not give yourself a hernia. Walk faster rather than jog. You might even find you bury even more calories.

Is it too soon to be at 800 cal a day??? I'm 2 week + 2 days post op. I keep thinking I should be at 400-500 still? I feel better at more but at a bit of a stall and I just don't want to push anything. I feel ready to start to exercise but I have some lightheadedness. Hard to get all my fluids in. Makes me so frustrated. Wow on running! I'm soooooo impressed! I want to run someday!

My nut just says just work on Fluid and Protein goals. I'm gonna read my stuff over again. I can easily get 700 with shakes and puréed. I keep reading about 800 being the threshold for starvation mode and stalls. Just wondering.

It's very tricky for me right now, this week I'm to add soft cooked veggies which has no Protein so I still have do shakes. I just try 1/4 cup of whatever I'm adding to see how my tummy reacts, that's it, I'm not trying to make meals of them because I don't want the calories. ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
