Was sitting on the bed Indian style with my legs crossed under me and my husband came in and was starring at me ... I'm like ummm what?? He said he has never seen me sit like that before!!! Never occurred to me that I was doing anything different but I'll take it as a NSV!

For those of you who haven't had surgery yet. I have discovered two things I cannot live without here at the hospital: Biotene moisturizing mouth spray and a robe so my butt goes not hang out when I walk. The mouth spray sounds weird, but it is incredible. The anti-nausea patch really dries you out. This helps a ton... Especially when all you can have is ice chips! ....good luck!

Hmm I might have to invest in some of the mouth spray. Even two weeks out I still get the awful dry mouth, and I am constantly sipping Water.< /p>

So happy for everyone! Congrats new sleevers!

I had my surgery on 02-17 and am about 6 weeks post op. My total weightloss is 45 lbs so far! I haven't posted much about my experiences post surgery. It has been hard but this is the best thing I could have ever done! I can cross my legs like a lady now lol...

My current weight is 240, I started at 285. I can eat and drink just about anything without difficulty BUT I don't. I follow the diet religiously and am exercising now. First day post op I was drugged up and didn't remember much and my mouth was extremely dry(I couldn't drink a thing)! They gave me these sponges on a stick to moisten my mouth and lip balm. I had a pretty good hospital experience. The first two weeks post op were most difficult for me because of the soreness mostly. By the end of the second week I was done with the liquid diet, just sick of it.

Hi Sher. Sorry I've been kind of quiet on here. I was having a tough time at first. Hope all is well!

All is well except the heel. Slow going for my weight but noticing the difference in clothes. I do have the "eyes are bigger than the stomach" syndrome. I guess so many years of eating a lot my head still thinks I should be eating that much when I know different. All in all it is going well. I learned what sliming was and why I don't put too much in my stomach. It's sure a learning experience but I have no regrets and feel better since I lost some weight.

How are you doing now Glitter? What has been a problem?

The surgery in general was a lot more painful than I'd anticipated. I was in a lot of pain for a long time. I'm feeling great now except for some back and shoulder pain which I'm sure is work-related.

I was really having a tough time with my diet at first too. I was on puréed foods day 3 after surgery. It seemed like everyone else had a completely different diet than me and I was sure I was not going to lose any weight. I was questioning everything when I should've just trusted my surgeon. After all, I trusted him to remove 75% of my stomach. I did follow my diet completely and I'm happy with my results so far. I just felt like out of the loop because everyone else's diet seemed to be so different.

I'm on all Proteins now with no carbs. As of yesterday, I am allowed one 1/2 cup serving of nonstarchy veggies and I'm really excited about that! No fruits yet, no caffeine, no dairy (other than cheese).

What's your diet like these days?

I'm joining the slow loosing club. My Dr said it can take 18 mo's to reach a normal weight. I guess slow wins the race. I'm back to exercising and have noticed my body has lost inches. I feel good and no problems eating or drinking. I have to take stool softners or I get constipated. Took me 2 wks to get the scale to move a pound.

Is anyone on anti-acids? I'm on Protonics for another 2 wks (90 days total) and then the Dr said if I needed to take an OTC anti-acid. I'm wondering if I'll need them. I never had a problem before surgery w/acid.

I was a slow looser and it picked back up week 9 and 10.. I take omeperazole once daily and I forgot it one day last week and I wanted to die the heartburn was awful and I had to eat tums all day at work! Never had heartburn before surgery and didn't realize I definitely needed the pills till I forgot !

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
