Christmas Success!

Recommended Posts

I did it! I stuck to the prescribed diet for the holidays. Christmas Day was my first day on my blenderized diet and I was able to eat about 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and 1/4 cup of my mom's delicious mashed potatoes. Everyone else was gorging on fried chicken, biscuits, corn, peas, etc.. it looked good but I was content to eat what I could and just enjoy being with my family.

Later that night we went to my husband's family event. I didn't eat at all since I was still slightly uncomfortable after my new food introduction earlier. (Listening to my body!) His family are all overweight. They are great people. But sitting there watching them all shove Cookies into their pie hole? It was liberating not to feel compelled to do the same.

I made it through! I'm so excited for the year to come!

Good going Leepers!

My husband and I still have issues when we attend family events at his parents house. Many of them there are also overweight and they all focus on food. Talking about eating and what they are eating what they have cooked and what they plan to eat as soon as they finishing eating what they are currently eating!

Never noticed how much the conversation fixated on food as I do now. Hubby and I are not even thinking about eating anything else then what we are currently chewing. We appreciate the deliciously prepared food so much more now, and if we skip dessert these days it's OK and we mark it as a Holiday victory :)

Yippee! So happy for you. The listening is so great -- that feeling of being in sync with the body again. Best wishes for the best holiday season ever!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
