Rushed to hospital 5 days post op

I was rushed to the hospital last night via ambulance after experiencing severe pain and nausea, in the middle of a snowstorm.

My blood pressure was 60/25 which I'm told is extremely dangerous. Pumped me with fluids and BP came up to 107/55.

Cat scan revealed bleeding and they are still not sure what's going on. May have more surgery. Pain is still pretty bad.

I must have missed something..you had 2 surgeries while you were at the hospital or did you count the first one...Anyway glad you are home and now things can start to progress in a positive way!!!!

Planning to take it really easy ...

Andrew

you probably feel better in your comfy bed, and own pillow :)

recovery from one surgery can be hard, you have 2 under your belt

so glad that you have good support from family and friends :)

good for knowing that you need to rest

take it easy, don't run any marathons!!!!

let others wait on YOU :)

how are you doing with drinking et al??? any problems??

take care guy

thoughts/good wishes that you will continue with an uneventful - but good, recovery :)

The second surgery addressed my internal bleeding. If was done as emergency surgery Sunday morning. By the time he got in there the bleeding had stopped so we don't know the source of the bleeding. He expected that but saiid it was important to clean out the blood as it would have caused additional problems like a leak.

I am so pleased you do not have a leak...That is not fun and it takes a long time to get better from that one...thank your lucky stars your home and on the mend!!!!

Jumping on the prayer train and hoping you get better quickly.

Glad you are home Andrew. Wishing you a speedy recovery. And,

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Why were you rushed to the hospital, you have never really explained what caused it?

He was feeling weak, and by the time he got to the ER his BP was dangerously low....he had internal bleeding but by the time they took him for surgery the bleeding stopped so they don't know exactly where the bleeding was from.

Thinking of you every day!

How r u doing Andrew ..r u on the mend now? Let us know.

Andrew,

Sending prayers to you. I hope this will be a very small bump in your journey.

Thanks again for everything, everyone!!

I'm feeling pretty good now, 5 days out from my second surgery and 10 days out from my sleeve surgery. Feeling some pressure in my stomach area but I wouldn't call it pain.

After coming home from sleeve surgery I really felt great and it wasn't until 4 days out when I had the internal bleeding problem. So, while I'm feeling pretty good now (again), I'm also very much so on-guard this time.

Praying your recovery is smoothe!

Follow-up appointment with surgeon for second surgery yesterday. He's very pleased with my progress recovering from both surgeries and he's very happy with my weight loss.

He started me on soft foods, which was awesome. I'd become so intolerant of Protein shakes that I'd just stopped using them. My protein for several days was almost nothing and calories probably averaging around 100/day. Now, starting with cottage cheese and yogurt, progressing to scrambled eggs soon.

Hoping it's smooth sailing from here ...
