30-Day Plank Challenge: Who Is In For This One?

Recommended Posts

I have been seriously neglectful of gym time over the last couple of weeks. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, for sure, but I still should have made a better effort. I'm going back tonight & get myself back on track. On the positive side, I have been keeping up with the ab challenge at home, so at least there's that. My abs are sore, so I guess that's a good sign.

We have hubby's office party tomorrow night & I have a cute new outfit planned. I have 2 skirts, one smaller than the other...let's hope I can wear the smaller one now!

So started my 3rd week this am. 45s bridge, 20s side planks & 40s regular plank. Those side planks are killer! Plus all I see is my loose flab hanging off me! Ugh! My hips and thighs are where I carried most of my excess fat and I still do but there's muscle underneath, somewhere!

It is there; I promise you. :) I feel the same way sometimes. While I have toned up tons, there is still this flabby lip around the front of my waist. Annoys the heck out of me because there is nothing short of surgery I can do about it. It is the last frontier that is untouchable no matter how much cross fit and toning I do. Unfortunately, my wife has told me more than once I am unable to go under the knife at least until 2015 due to the expense of kids coming up. I fully back this decision and can live with the lip o' skin, but oh how I wish I could zap this one remaining area into oblivion.

Ok I'm in. Know I'm a little late but I am willing to try. I been doing regular planks recently an I am proud to say I can hold it for 40 secs now compared to a few days ago. I have never done any of the other ones but I will try my hardest to keep up..

Missed yesterday cuz I got a late start in the morning. Got all my planks and bridging in today though. I really am struggling to hold the plank for 40 secs but the side planks are getting a little easier.

Essentially still holding 400 s planks every day before starting planned routine. However, in the last couple weeks I have been working on l sits. These are really insane holds. I can only hold one about 40 s. An "l sit" is where your grasp 2 parallette(sp?) bars (about 4-6 inches above ground, about finger to elbow width apart) and sit above them with arms straight against your sides and legs out in front, parallel to the ground, holding them as straight as possible (hold your body in the shape of an "l" while holding those bars). You want to graduate from planks, try these. If you do not have parallete bars, you can do these with your hands on the ground (much harder than bars) or on two 20" boxes (much easier than bars). This will build your upper body strength exponentially. :)

45 sec bridge, 20 sec side planks, 40 sec regular plank which I could barely hold. Feeling a little shaky this morning maybe cuz I'm fighting a cold.

I had forgot all about my plank challenge! Will get started back. I hope to be more focused in January.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
