Am I Too Tight?!

Recommended Posts

Hello

I also have times were I can eat things n I have no issues. Then I can go back eat the sane thing and I puke. I'll have days were I can't hold anything down Then I'll have days were I am fine

I'll never get it. Maybe I eat too fast I don't chew good enough I don't know

I have this from time to time. I think it's because you really have to chew. I have a harder time in mornings.. I eat a lot of yogurt..

Sometimes I can't eat yogurt either and it is more In the morning That's my worse time and one of the important times

I so have to slow down when I eat and I have to chew chew chew. I was always a fast eater. And after a while all my bad habits show their nasty head again Now I have to stop and pay attention

Even almost at six years I still have issues. Old habits don't die that's for sure. You have to keep trying and trying ugh

It takes time. Be patient. I stopped weighing myself and just let the band work for me. I have to do my part by exerting control over my eating and let the band do its job.

I have had the same type of problems. I can eat Breakfast and lunch, but throw up dinner many evenings. My gastro did an endoscopy and found some minor irritation, but nothing alarming. He put me on some GERD meds but they have made no difference. i went to my surgeon last month and he did an unfill. No difference. I returned last week and he said it makes no sense so he ordered an upper GI series and the radiologist said it all went down perfectly. I have to go for a follow up with my surgeon still. In the meantime I am not losing any weight. Eating easy slider foods and maintaining a 30lb loss since surgery 5/28/13, but it should be twice that by now. ):

Something sounds wrong I hope you find out

I know when I eat too fast n don't chew. I'll puke

Can't eat sandwiches. But then sometimes I can

So strange I have thrown up allot in the past several years now I go back to my surgeon Dec 26th. Had my gallbladder out I feel allot better

Now. But I still get sick. More when I'm getting a cold I'm tempted to get another fill. I want to lose like 20 lbs. I put that in over the past 3 years

I'm afraid it will keep going

My daughter wedding is coming need a dress n want something hot lol

If your are going back and forth like this, this could be the problem. You also may be trying to eat foods that your band has decided you shouldn't. I personally haven't found any of those, but lots of folks have. Good luck with figuring out the problem, but I'd start with slowing down and chewing well.

I had my first fill last Monday (1cc). I didn't feel anything until 5 days later when I had a stuck episode. For 3 days after this stuck episode I couldn't eat anything, now I can only tolerate liquids. I haven't felt this sad in the entire time I had the lap band. I had surgery in May and have lost 45 lbs. I got the fill because I started to notice I was hungry between meals and was able to eat a lot more. But now I regret getting the fill because now I can't eat anything, at all. And I am really upset. And my drs office is closed until after the holidays. I hate this too tight feeling.

Hey Hockeymom

Did you try and get it out whatever was stuck?

I'll have one piece of meat stuck n that will ruin everything I eat or drink later it's the worse

This is gross but I stick my finger down my throat n throw it up. I hate it but it gets it out for me

I can't eat red meat steak etc I can eat a half of burger that's it. I can't digest red meat

I'm getting a very small fill today I have been able to eat way too much without filling full

Time to tighten up until summer I'm thinking

Plus my daughter is getting married in October

I'll be restricted. But I need a jump start on eating right again. Hope you feel better

Lisa

I am much too scared to do damage by forcing myself to throw up. I got patient and just started over from scratch. Drinking liquids for a few days, on to mushies then slowly moving to regular foods. I think I'm all good now. It's been one week but I've learned my lesson. And I'm back on track. Feeling good again.

Thursday, 12/26, I had my Fluid taken all out then back in again w/an additional .5 added & I sat out in the waiting room to see if the Water goes down & it didnt!

As i felt the Water rise to the top of my throat I knew i was too tight, but i REFUSE to have any Fluid removed! Its been 5 long months w/no real weightloss at all.

Soon as i got out to the car it all came out and I slimed all the way to work & used a spit cup for 2 hours until it finally stopped.

Its Saturday & im able to drink fluids now with no problem. coffee, water, crystal light, & half cup of yogurt ive been baby sitting now.

I havent tried anything solid.

Next week, once the swelling is gone I'll know for sure if this is my green zone or not.

Its been a long time coming, if this isnt the green zone im very well on the brink of it

Are you doing ok now??

I hate when you slime. It's so nasty lol it really is

I always feel everyone looks at me that they think all I do is puke. Drives me nuts I carry a bag with me all the time just in case

I had little fill the other day. I think it's like 7cc

Full now. I am still able to eat but little at a time

N have thrown up a couple if times. But doing ok now

I needed to do this I have to get back where I was before. Gained a little and I don't need to keep gaining I went from a size 20 to size 16 for a long time and now a size 8. But I want to be at size 6. That's my goal. After the first I'm back at Zumba and this power class I take. N walking

Have a great night

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
