I have crossed over!! I'm officially 7 hours post op lap band and feel great emotionally. Physically no real pain but soreness from the gas trapping. However I haven't taken any pain meds other that what they gave me in surgery. I started off 240 and while fighting with my insurance over a year I have lost quite a bit. My Check in weight today was 195. I still got banded. I earned this dam thing. All the nurses kept saying they didn't understand because I'm pretty ok weight wise. My response was tell my knees and organs that lol my choice and I feel so good. The worst part was my sister's crazy driving on the way back home. Hahaha

Oh Sweetie_13 - this is exactly what I needed to read at this very moment! I'm so happy for you!!! I'm packing for the hospital now for a 12 noon surgery time tomorrow and I'm so happy to hear how well you are doing! I'm on the other side of the spectrum in that I just started this process 6 weeks ago, got approved a month ago and BOOM - getting banded tomorrow! Lightening FAST...My doc didn't put me on a pre-surgery diet, so I'm at my heaviest ever and looking forward to this journey I'm embarking. My mind is right, I know that I'll be eliminating sugar and most fat from my diet and eating very small portions and taking a long time to eat a meal. No more fast food for me ever hallelujah!

It will be nice to visit with you on this forum - what a great group of people. I'll check in tomorrow. Rest well and I do pray the discomfort is better than tolerable for you!!

Be well :)

Yay!!! Congrats, glad to hear your feeling good. All I can recommend is walk, walk, walk, walk, walk. It helps a whole lot when it comes to gas pains.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
