It is strange how different the docs work. Some ppl on here are have soft foods @ day 3. I will be on liquids for 6 weeks! Not complaining though. Have lost a nice chunk of weight though. So this a.m. was down 16 lbs. Feeling very happy. Tolerating eggs, pureed Soups including chili (either I'm brave or stupid) and Peanut Butter from spoon. Grateful to Molly for mentioning benefiber. How are the recent losers feeling? I hope well.

I'm on day 8 and for the first time in a few days I've just taken some pain killers. Hopefully it just means things are healing. I sometimes forget what big surgery this is we're having!

Hello I'm a had the rou-en-y surgery 10-7 at 830pm and my doctor had me walking the following morning at 10am. I'm still on liquids while incorporating sf Popsicles, pudding and cottage cheese.

My heaviest weight was 380, day of surgery j was at 358 and this morning I weighed in at 342.

It's been truly amazing.

I've also had puréed chickpeas twice and they tasted like heaven.

Did you mix the chickpeas with anything when blending?

So excited had an egg for breakfast and tuna fish for lunch stayed down no problems

I was supposed to start pureed food yesterday. Im kinda scared to progress like that. I did have 2 slices of Cooper sharp cheese during the day.

Today i am making lentil Soup and will puree that.. I am having a rough time keeping my pouch happy. One day it wont tolerate cold things. next it hates hot things. One day i ate a SF italian ice and the very next day i got sick on the same thing. but i did pick up tuna and salmon in pouches and some FF miracle whip and mayo with olive oil for when i am brave enough to try them. I also have some chili i made before surgery thawing to try and puree that tomorrow and a pot roast too. Heres to hoping i wont be too scared.

Applesauce is one of my mainstays in the puréed stage. I can mix crushed meds in it, too. I've learned (the hard way, too) that not everything works for my pouch. Look at other factors, too, like too much or too fast. My clinic also cautions that pork and beef may take longer to tolerate.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
