Kristi I hear you about the gym. I am not allowed to go back until mid January and hate how out of shape I already feel. I had a little setback with my lower body lift. I got a small infection this week. I am almost 5 weeks out so shows me how long this surgery takes to heal.

I got a fitbit for Christmas. While I am pretty active and dedicated to my healthy lifestyle I wanted one. Anyone on here use one and want to be friends on the fitbit site?

I have one and use it all the time. I am Baconville@q.com, look me up! Right now I have no friends since RJ quit on me. I would love to add this back in.

I just sent you a request, hopefully I did it correctly. I am still trying to figure all of the features out. Right now I am not doing much due to my recovery but plan to use this as a tool for maintenance. My new year's resolution this year is to maintain my healthy lifestyle, focus on me and my relationships and encourage myself to follow my dreams. First time in over 30 years losing weight wasn't on the list. :)

Anyone else experience shoulder pains? I feel it is from bad posture. And sleeping on my side. Its gotten really bad. I need to build some muscles. Going to call the doctor once I get back home.

I have a fitbit account but I haven't worn my fitbit in forever. My phone tracks my steps.

A friend of mine had frozen shoulder and she said it was very painful. She had to have surgery and do physical therapy but doing much better now. You should get in and see if it is something like that. I haven't been to the gym in two months due to this surgery and feel like I have to start completely over building muscle. It is more my legs than anything. I am allowed to start lightly next week. Nothing too heavy for the first few weeks. I was such a gym rat and now I feel like I will be considered part of the resolution crowd. Lol. Oh well I know my patterns, once I get back to work I'll get back on routine. If you do decide to use your fitbit again, let me know.

iaswi, you did it right, and I accepted your invite!

I have been down with the stomach flu since Sunday, and just tried to work out for the first time tonight. Got home and got sick again! My weight is WAY down, too low for my comfort zone. I just had some toast with PB 2 and some Greek Yogurt. Not something I would normally do right before bed, but I have to try to get something in my system. I took Immodium, called my clinic and they said it is safe for RNY patients to take. I think I may call again tomorrow and see if something else might be up. I am really miserable!

Yay I am glad we are connected!

Sorry you are feeling so badly. Get a lot of rest and fluids. I am still not 100% so I completely understand. I am going to wait another week before I go back to work. My job is very mentally challenging and I don't feel up to a full day yet. My surgeon suggested an extra week because of the infection I am getting over, plus he knows how hard my job is as I have managed projects for him in the past at mayo.< /p>

Feel better and we can both get active when we feel up to it. :)

Oh I meant to ask, what is your weight down to? If I recall we are the same height 5'2" right? I am down to 110 and feel too small right now. I want to put 5 lbs on and am hoping once I can start lifting weights again I can build back up. It is funny how 5 lbs makes all the difference between feeling thin to feeling gaunt. My eyes were always big but now they look huge.

I am between 117-120 (with all the skin!). I also think I am too small and am looking to put on about five pounds. I just came from the mall where I tried on size 4 petite jeans at Christopher Banks and they were too big! Who would have thought!

I agree with your doc, don't go back to work until you are really ready. You will only set yourself back and you won't be able to do your job they way you want to either. You are much better off taking the week. I am finally feeling better, but whatever I had seems to have re-adjusted my pouch and I am not able to eat as much as I was. Go figure!

I am looking forward to returning to my normal workout routine next week! See you on fit bit!

I haven't been on here in forever! I had some issues with the app and got frustrated.

It was fun this morning to see familiar names. It appears you are all doing very well. So glad!

I have seriously stalled, but I think I am okay with that because I feel great!

I'm training for the Disney princess half marathon in February.

I also have a Fitbit. Feel free to add me.

Glad to see you back, Mel! I am not a huge fan of the new app either but need the support. Maintaining is very important I think even more than losing to be honest. glad you are doing the Disney run!! :)

Hi Junies! So, I never thought I'd have this problem but I'm having a hard time not losing. I really wanted to maintain at 115 and am having a hard time staying over 110. I am petite so it doesn't look bad but still. Anyone else struggling with finding their sweet spot to maintain or even gain a little?

I miss the interaction on here!!

I'm so ready for the snow to go away. I need to go outside and play. Falling into old bad habits of sitting on my butt under a blanket.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
