Check in day for me! I was 112.5 on the scale this a.m. same as last week, maintenance is good! Still haven't worked out much this week but am back in the pool doing laps. food choices have been much better this week! Now, if I could just get my exercise back on track and journal my food and Water....

My 2 year check up is end of next week. Kind of excited for my doctor to see me. Oh and I had someone today who never knew me when I wasn't bigger than 115 tell me I am so tiny and how much they admire the way I dress. It made me feel cute for the first time in 25 years. Seriously. :)

Good job! My weight is good this week too, I am at 120 which is the bottom of my zone. Exercise is saving me. My food choices have not been the best. Too much stress right now with my Mom still very ill. My son graduates from High School next Saturday. I love the dress I found! Can't wait to wear it!

New dresses are the best! I bought my first maxi dress. First because at 5'2" I always felt like a mumu when I was fat. I was thrilled to pull it off!!

Check in day for me!

I was 111.5 this morning, so right in my range. I started logging my food again but still not exercising like I should. I see my doctor and dietician early next week for my 2 year follow up and can't wait for them to see me! I had labs done today and while all the Vitamins aren't back yet, everything else looked perfect so far! I am just thrilled with this new me but don't want to take maintenance for granted. I still have my five lb window of 110 to 115 and as long as I am in that range I am in my zone. Maintaining is harder on me psychologically than losing was. Anyone else struggling with fears and doubts? I worry any slip could spiral me back to 267 lbs....

Checking in... It's the end of the school year and stress is all around me... so are my munchies :\ I give myself a 10lb window (stay in the 150's) so I'm still good.

Ive started walking more regularly. my fitbit tells me when i'm lazy...

I had my 2 year follow up appointments today. Everything except my Iron was PERFECT! I was so excited for my doctor to see me. He prescribed iron pills and said not to take it with Calcium. Everything else was wonderful. I am so happy and thrilled to say I am maintaining and working this every day.

Great job to both of you! I have my 2 year on Wednesday. Ironically, I am too HIGH in Iron, something the doc says she very rarely sees. No Vitamins with iron for me. I am also low on Vitamin B 1, so I have added that to my daily routine. Otherwise blood work looked great. We will see what she says on Wednesday and I will let you know!

Great job! Any idea how your Iron levels are so high? I've always run on the low side of normal so wasn't shocked when it was low. My potassium runs on the low end too so I try and focus on potassium rich foods.

No idea why my Iron is high. Never was a problem prior to surgery. I feel fantastic so it can't be having too bad an effect. It will be interesting what I learn in the morning.

That is great! I knew something was up with me because I had such bad fatigue. I wasn't sire if it was B 12 or Iron so when iron was low it made sense. The nice thing is in the last week I've been seeing my energy come back. I can't wait to hear how your appointment goes!! :)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
