I'm 60. Anyone else over 50 doing RNY?

I agree that everyone is different. I knew about the gas pain. Well had been told it was possible. Thought I had lucked out then Bam! It was there. I am so glad that it did not last long and wasn't any worse than it was. Ever since except feeling hungry I am doing good. One week in see the doctor today for my one week check up.

And all the congregation says--- AMEN! Sorry long evangelical background, mine Church of Christ, Methodist, maried into Nazarene and Church of Christ in Christian Union, must have been 12 before I found out not everyone goes to Camp Meetings and Revivals! So mine is L0LBPTL. Laugh out loud but Praise the Lord!

I'm 51. I know I will be one of those people who really wishes they'd done it much earlier! I can only go forward from here.

And we will all be here for you anytime you need to talk. Over 50s have successful surgeries, so do 60s and 70s, no reason to believe you're exempt for victory. We wanted it even more than our daughters and grandaughters for we know what a life without surgery is like. So use your Baby Boom gumption for a good purpose-YOU! We will be anxious to see all you can be, cause we think you're dynamite already. So nothing to it but to do it!

I agree completely. We so got this with our strong will and determination. I am here anytime someone would like to talk, vent, soundboard. It is an honor to be in this age group and look forward to our success.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
