Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Good morning violets!

TracyinKS-sweet oil, that is what I was trying to remember to use on my ears!! I am going to get some today. I am so sorry about your ears, that is horrible and I feel your pain sister! Hope they are better this morning. Mine are better but not 100% yet.

Terri-I noticed that you said you hae had your 2nd fill from spivak. How much do you have in your band? I was banded by him the wek after you and I have had one fill so far. What prompted the 2nd fill? I can feel your pain too on the PB thing. I did it again yesterday so I am going to be on mushies today (again).

Everyone...I have to admit I am kinda confused now on the carbonated drinks rules. I thought it was none whatsoever. Now I heari t is ok a month post op? Please tell me that is true!! I just wanna know the real answer because if it can damage the band, I will not do it.

Yesterday I had a really emotional day. I attribute some of it to my TOM but I am missing bread SO bad! I am just so scared to try it that I have put it in my taboo catagory. I was just having such bad withdrawels yesterday...to the point of tears at one time. But I sucked it up and got over it. My DH did not really understand me being emotional over it and then I just told him "imagine yourself never again being able to eat a sandwich or hamburger for the rest of your life". He understood quickly then. lol

I need to get off my butt and exercise...i talk about doing it and just can't seem to make the first step.

I have looked at this post and it seems like I am kinda rambling, but that is the way my mind is working this morning, so just roll with me...haha

My DD is just now waking up. That is a miracle in itself because normally she would have been awake 2 hours ago. makes me wonder if she is sick or something.

Everyone have a great day...

Tracy

Anyone GAIN weight before their fill? I'll get my first fill in two days.

I felt no hunger for 6 weeks (other than head hunger). I did well lost weight..but then about two weeks ago it was like a light switch that switched back to my old demon hunger!! I've fought and fought but have gone back (not totally) to the old way..doing well during the day but overeating at night. I can eat anything...no restriction.

I weighed this morning after being on the lake and eating CRAP. Weight this morning..get this 5!! FIVE pounds since Friday!!!

Of course now I want to starve myself to get the weight off in two days?????? Like it didn't work for 40 years why do I think it will work NOW!!!!!

I feel horrible and soooo down!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME????!!!!!!!!!!!!:help::help::help:

Thanks for listening.

househuntress-give yoursef a small break. In 2 days you will really know what the band is all about. You will finally have some restriction. What you are going through is normal. You are going to do GREAT!!

I was banded April 11 and haven't had a fill yet (didn't need first fill 3 weeks after surgery). Question: Is the restriction similiar to restriction immediately after surgery? I'm just now able to tolerate almost anything, so going back to major restriction is worrying me.:help:

Bubbles,

For me I didn't really have a lot of restriction right after surgery. Now with my fill it is 500% better than after surgery!!! Hang in there, it is coming!!!!

Good Morning Violets! Happy Memorial Day!

I just caught up with you chatty bunch. I think the "diet" focus ebbs and flows with me. This is one of the bumps I always face. About two months of "dieting" (preop - now) and it is hard to concentrate for so long on food - what to eat, what not to eat, how much, weighing, measuring....yadda.....yadda..... and I've had some success. A weight loss that gives me some room. This is usually the time I "give up the fight" - but it is different this time. There isn't a way to give up, now do I want to. But I can see that I can't only live to eat, but I can't only live to diet either. I find time that I used to spend eating or thinking about eating needs to be channeled. The first thing I am going to do is to get cerified to scuba dive. I have always wanted to do this, so why don't I?

Hugs and be happy and gentle with yourself today,

Good Afternoon, Violets!~~

TOMORROW IS MY BIG DAY! :)

I've spent the whole day today so far CLEANING, cleaning, cleaning my house, as I don't want to be recuperating w/dust bunnies everywhere. My lovely family has been helping me, with their reward to be going to see "Pirates 3" this afternoon. Then I'll come back & clean some more! I'm finding it to be a great distraction & it gets the nervous energy out!

I'll definitely check in before I leave tomorrow morning @5:30am Eastern time for my date w/destiny! I have a funny feeling that I won't be able to sleep much tonight, so I'll probably type the night away!

I can't believe that my day is here!!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
