  1. I had my 4th fill last Thursday and it was uneventful. However 4-5 days later, I am very restricted before noon. Never had this before. Wonder why it has taken several days for a restriction like this? Can't really get any liquid and no food down before noon. And I gurgle like crazy! Just wondering... Love this thread. You girls are wonderful!!
  2. Yes, I did and still continue to have gas. I was banded April 11, 2007. It is much, much better now, but it was bad for at least 4.5 months. I tried everything, but nothing made it better. I have learned not to eat spicy foods. But sometimes that didn't even help. I really think that when I started exercising at the gym, it really made the difference. I still have shoulder pain about once every 2 weeks now, but sooooo much better than before. Sorry that you are in pain! I hope that it gets better very soon.
  3. Went shopping with my son today, so everything was slightly off (normally eat more protein and fiber): 1/2 c. organic cereal 1 c. organic milk 1 slim-fast low carb shake Frullati smoothie w/ protein powder Walnuts (1/8 c.) 1 c. organic milk 1/4 c. chicken breast Total calories: 941 Total protein: 73 grams No "official" exercise, just walking the mall with an 11 year old.
  4. TerriDoodle, I'll pledge to track every single bite this week! I have been slacking somewhat in the last 2 weeks and need to get back to tracking everything! Good idea!
  5. I use New Whey Liquid Protein shots (42 grams of protein for 3.1 ounces). They taste similar to a melted popsicle, but much thicker. My dr. sells them, or The Vitamin Shoppe. They are a bit pricey, but you won't have any problem getting your protein in with these. Good luck!
  6. Hi Violets, I was wondering if anyone knows if Airborne (the herbal tablet for colds, allergies, etc.) is ok to consume? It is similar to Alka-Seltzer (fizzy). I just swallowed a drink and then remembered that I do have the band and this might not be good for my band. My doctor doesn't allow carbonation at all. Just wondering... I really enjoy this thread, even though I rarely post. You all all doing great!:clap2:
  7. Tracy, can you eat cereal? I don't have any problems as long as I have 1/2 cup of cereal in the morning. I use organic whole grains with 1 cup of milk and just take tiny bites and eat very slow. I also put whole grains with flaxseed in my yougart every day. Hope this helps!
  8. I just had your delicious cottage cheese, blueberries and splenda for lunch. I decided to add some walnuts to it, guess what? It was wonderful! Thanks again for sharing!
  9. Yesterday was my 3 month anniversary and I have lost 32 pounds post surgery also (12 pounds pre-op diet). I think that is a great weight loss and I'm very proud of it, aren't you!
  10. Teachlady, I just tried your cottage cheese, blueberries & Splenda, it was wonderful! I think that I just found a new favorite meal! I believe that I will have it everyday for lunch, YUMMY! Thanks for sharing!
  11. Teachlady, what brand of bike is this? It is way cool! I rarely comment but read each and every post. You guys are great and have helped me so much in my lap-band journey. Thank you all!
  12. Have you tried eating cereal for your irregularity? I had the same problem until I got back on my pre-surgery routine of organic low-fat granola. I have 1/2 cup of granola and 1/4 1% milk each day and it works great.
  13. Congratulations! I hope that you have a very good rest. Remember to walk, take deep breaths and take your gas-X (hopefully you won't need it). You did it!!!!!:clap2:
  14. Thanks for sharing! I'm scheduled to get my first fill on June 7. I know that I need it, but it sure is nice not having to worry about food getting stuck, etc. right now!
  15. I was banded April 11 and haven't had a fill yet (didn't need first fill 3 weeks after surgery). Question: Is the restriction similiar to restriction immediately after surgery? I'm just now able to tolerate almost anything, so going back to major restriction is worrying me.:help:
