Not Eating, Because I'm Not Hungry

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if the little that I am eating could be a bad thing. Literally Saturday I only had a couple bites of a chicken breast. I'm not thinking about food anymore and eating isn't what it used to be. I used to enjoy it because everything fit and tasted good. Now its like im just not interested. Or if I am I eat like four bites. Idk I was just wondering if anyone else is this way? I take Vitamins and drink fluids just am not thinking about eating. Hmm.

I am 3 weeks post op and have to force myself to eat. I have no cravings or urge to eat unhealthy I did this surgery for a reason why sabotage it. I can only get a ounce of meat in at a time. So I haven't been able to get veggies in, only fruit with my Protein smoothies.< /p>

I totally hear you cmarie! I find myself thinking..."oh no, did I eat enough today"?

Today I had 6 oz of yogurt, 3 oz. at a time, and them about 3 oz of carving board turkey and cheese (which for some reason I threw-up). Now I'm sitting in bed having SF/Skim hot cocoa and it'll be cold long before I finish it, I'm thinking about my day and realize there is no way I'm eating or drinking enough. I have to try and up te intake of both, but seriously I am so NOT hungry at all...food does NOT appeal to me at all, in fact thinking about eating makes me nauseous.

I so hope this passes. Anyone?

I'm 5 weeks post op and have lost, started at 228.8 am now 209.5 progress, but I feel like crap!

Again, I hope this is a stage and it passes....

Kerrie-Ann

All if this is normal. I'm 4 months & sometimes I forget to eat. Sometimes I eat like a mouse a piece of cheese & cracker and that's like a meal. If my pouch says full I'm happy & keep it moving.

Lack of appetite for a while following surgery is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Not getting enough Protein - that's a different story. Protein is crucially important. Your body uses protein to regenerate tissue and speed healing. Carbs are king when it comes to energy but when you're on a low carb diet, your body will use protein instead. Low energy - eat more protein. Protein will help minimize lean muscle loss. Protein will help protect against infections. Protein will help minimize Hair loss. Bottom line - your appetite will come back, you just won't be able to eat nearly as much as the old you. But getting ALL of the daily protein that your doctor recommends is important. Your body will thank you and you're gonna love the new you!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
