you have the "last meal" syndrome. its all in your head..your thinking is eat now because some extreme changes are about to happen. my surgeon warned me off the "last supper" syndrome and he told me to avoid it...i did farely well, and avoided it. whos to say if it helped anything or not

YES I DID! ALL THIS PAST WEEKEND. Started the pre-op diet Monday only to be told I had been postponed another week. So, here I go again. ONLY, this time, I'm not going to do the pigging out this time around. I was miserable Monday morning and had gained 4 lbs.........ugh

I'm too scared to weigh myself. Ugh. I'm going to stop this madness I've never eaten like this in my life.

Pre-opper here...I've been trying really hard to eat well most meals, but realize there are foods that are going to be off limits after surgery. For the most part, I haven't been doing a lot of fatty foods. So...

We went out to dinner last night. At this restaurant, they make a really good sandwich called the chicken Ranch Club (chicken breast, slice of cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomotao and ranch dressing on a bun). I thought "I should get that" because it's something I won't be able to have post-op, probably ever. So, I threw on some tator tots as well.

OMG - I was so uncomfortable on the way home. It was like there was a balloon in my stomach. I felt horrible all night and into this morning.

Needless to say, I can bid farewell to the Chicken Ranch Club and probably never think about it again. I threw up in my mouth a little just thinking about last night's experience.

The dietician at my surgeons office actually told us all (our Optifast class) before we started our Optifast diets to hit our favorite restaurants and everything like that not only as a celebration for making it through the six month diet, but also as a way to get the 'cheating' out of our systems before going all liquid for 2, 4, or 6 weeks prior to surgery.

Yikes it's so hard after surgery...I'm totally going through withdrawal...all I've know for years was binge eat...Omg I can't anymore..I'm dying..I've had a secret relationship with carbs...now I can't..please break it asap...I feel my like even after surgery I am still broken..I am going through so much now then I thought...this is not a cry out this is something you need to know you can possibly go through.

Before starting my pre-op, I did the same if not worse. I felt disgusting afterwards... I had more meals than necessary and stuffed myself whether I was alone or not. But other than feeling disgusted about myself and gaining a few more pounds before pre-op, I don't think it affected me in a bad way, I still did very good in my pre-op

So, you're five days out, how are you feeling?

I have ate everything, and think I am finally full! I'm literally sick of food. I start pre-op, liquids only tomorrow - I'll probably feel different... however, tonight was the Grande Finale!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
