Frightening News from France

Once again, the real news in France is conveniently

not being reported as it should. To give you an idea

of what's going on in France where there are now

between 5 and 6 million Muslims and about 600,000 Jews,

here is an email that came from a Jew living in

France. Please read! Will the world say nothing - again - as it did in Hitler's time?

"I AM A JEW -- therefore I am forwarding this to

everyone on all my e-mail lists. I will not sit back

and do nothing." Nowhere have the flames of

anti-Semitism burned more furiously than in France:

Lyon, a car was rammed into a synagogue and set

on fire. In Montpellier, the Jewish religious center

was firebombed; so were synagogues in Strasbourg and

Marseilles; so was a Jewish school in Creteil - all recently.

A Jewish sports club in Toulouse was attacked with

Molotov cocktails, and on the statue of Alfred

Dreyfus in Paris, the words "Dirty Jew" were

painted. In Bondy, 15 men beat up members of a

Jewish football team with sticks and metal bars. The

bus that takes Jewish children to school in

Aubervilliers has been attacked three times in the last 14 months.

According to the Police, metropolitan Paris has seen

10 to 12 anti-Jewish incidents PER DAY in the past

30 days. Walls in Jewish neighborhoods have been

defaced with slogans proclaiming "Jews to the gas

chambers" and "Death to the Jews."

A gunman opened fire on a Kosher butcher's shop

(and, of course, the butcher) in Toulouse , France;

a Jewish couple in their 20s were beaten up by five

men in Villeurbanne , France . The woman was

pregnant; a Jewish school was broken into and

vandalized in Sarcelles , France . This was just in

the past week.

So I call on you, whether you are a fellow Jew, a

friend, or merely a person with the capacity and

desire to distinguish decency from depravity, to do,

at least, these three simple things:

First, care enough to stay informed. Don't ever let

yourself become deluded into thinking that this is

no t your fight. I remind you of what Pastor

Neimoller said in World War II: "First they came for

the Communists, and I didn't speak up, because I

wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and

I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. Then they

came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up,

because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me,

and by that time there was no one left to speak up

for me".

Second, boycott France and French products. Only the

Arab countries are more toxically anti-Semitic and,

unlike them, France exports more than just oil and

hatred. So boycott their wines and their perfumes.

Boycott their clothes and their foodstuffs. Boycott

their movies. Definitely boycott their shores. If

we are resolved we can exert amazing pressure and,

whatever else we may know about the French, we most

certainly know that they are like a cobweb in a

hurricane in the face of well directed pressure.

Third, send this along to your family, your friends,

and your co-workers. Think of all of the people of

good conscience that you know and let them know

that you and the people that you care about need

their help. The number one best selling book in

France is "September 11: The Frightening Fraud,"

which argues that no plane ever hit the Pentagon."

I guess QT has a "beautiful gentle soul." But she also believes that everyone who does not believe the way she does is "lost." I guess that means that the large majority of people who have ever walked the earth, including the countless millions of human beings who never heard of Christ, will burn in hell for eternity. Pardon me, but that does not seem all that "gentle and beautiful" to me. I know she sincerely believes what she says but it's just a little but harsh for my taste.

Personally I consider myself to be quite offensively "hazed" when someone tells me that I'm going to burn in hell because I don't believe exactly the way they do. She did not simply express her beliefs. She expressed beliefs that included her predictions for my future. I take that personally.

The most arrogant and judgmental thing a person can do is to say "You must believe exactly as I do or you will burn in hell for eternity." You can call that "well stated and unoffensive" if you want to. I see it differently.

And thank you gadget lady for carrying on the tradition of this thread of hazing anyone who states beliefs you disagree with.

You ultra religious sorts truly crack me up. You can always dish it, but you can never take it. Why, because what YOU believe is backed up by the WORD OF GOD!!! You have no more right to your opinion than I do, and posts like yours involve "hazing" every bit as much as mine did. But, of course, I know you'll never be able to see that. After all, God told you that you are right.

That is perfectly said. You seem to realize that what a person says isn't always what a person does. In other words, like my mom says, it's not what is said that defines a Christian, it's what's done. A person can profess their Christianity to everyone they see, but the only thing that matters at the end of the day is what they do.

Standing in a Christian church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

You can all think what you want! It's a free country and God gave us a free will for which we will all have to answer for someday. You are in for a rude awakening!

It is interesting to note that those mocking the authority of the literal, infallible scriptures, and me personally, are athiests, ultra liberals, liberal Christians which does include Catholics, and an old man who is a socialist/Communist, hates the government and country he lives in and worships a God of his own imagining that is admittedly imperfect and fallible. Why should I be suprised! In fact, this raging is exactly what the vWord of God describes in the first verse of the 22nd Psalm.

(Your quote is, by the way, incoherent; this would be due to your careless attention to written grammar.) In fact, Christianity is no longer a beleagered religion; it is has the widest population base world wide with Islam coming in second. This would indicate that the world no longer hates Christians for their beliefs; the glaring exceptions at this time of writing are those countries which are owned by Islamic fundamentalists.

Your own country, the United States, is overwhelmingly Christian. This does mean that the name and teachings of Jesus are recognised in this part of the world by an overwhelming majority.

To employ such a quote in order to imply that Christian beliefs are under attack, whether it be by Muslim terrorists, atheists, Christian liberals, or any individuals who do not belong to the Christian fundamentalist Right is both manipulative and specious.

I am, moreover, baffled by both your often exhibited foul temper and your equally often displayed lack of generosity towards your fellow Christians. To tell you the truth, I don't get it. I would have thought that you would be happy to see so many folks taking the trouble to write into this thread in order to say that they, too, count themselves as Christians, that they, too, believe in God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Ghost. I am a Penticostal christian by denomination, however, I don't believe this is not how Jesus classifies me. I believe that he sees us not by our relationship to a church but by the relationship that we have with him (keeping in mind that he does not want us to forsake the gathering together in his name and worship).

We're all nuts, but welcome to our tree, QT. I am a Catholic by denomination, and I agree that Jesus does not define us by labels.

I respect your beliefs, although I don't claim to be familiar with all of them. I think that if you are faithful to your beliefs you will be a stronger Christian for it. I once had a wonderful priest who told people who were considering conversion, "Do not consider this unless you are certain God has spoken to you and it's what YOU truly want. Don't convert for your spouse, your children, or your in-laws. If you do that, you'll never be a good Catholic, and it's far, far better to be a good something else than a lukewarm Catholic."

Amen to that Carlene- That's why even after we had my first marriage annuled, and even though I attended regular mass and raised my children Catholic, I didn't consider becoming a Catholic. I knew I would never be a full-fledged Catholic.

Carlene: I just re-read what I wrote. To clarify, I am not criticizing the Catholic Church. There are many things that I love about the Catholic Church. I found it very easy to worship and learn in that environment. But it just doesn't make sense to me on some levels. I totally disagree with many of the things they believe that pertain to women and families.
