Good day everyone!!

I am 5 days post-op today and I am struggling with my liquid diet.

Even when I take extremely small sips of room temperature Water I feel extreme pains in my chest.

I am worried that I am not able to consume the adequate amount of nutrients.

Did anyone else experience this?

Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

Xo

Michele

Hello, I'm also 5 days post op and am having the same problems. What advise I was given was to take a medicine cup and feel it up and shoot it back every 5 minutes or so through out the day. I find that working for me but still have the pain but not so bad =) good luck I hope this can help!

I recall feeling chest pain that I associated with Gas. Gas X strips and forcing myself to walk helped greatly. I know I felt encouraged to get my liquid in bc you can get very sick if you don't stay hydrated. I hope that helps some. Take care!

I am 5 days as well. I have found that cold liquids are easier to go down the gobbler. Have you tried popcicles or ice chips besides liquids?

I was the same way, I talk to my dr he said for some reason Water can be harsh so he told me just to drink watered down Gatorade or juice. That helped me out alot, before I couldn't get anything down. Hope it helps

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
