Drinking fluids post op

Recommended Posts

Crystal lite (even diluted) is too sweet, Powerade zero doesn't do it for me anymore, Water is the most tolerable thing right now, and that isn't very tolerable. I hate mio and the cl 'drops'.. What else are people drinking besides water? Gatorade is way too sweet, also.

You can make some tea using the bottled Water with electrolytes or just drink premade tea. This was a big help for me because I can't stand crystal lite any more. The Fruit Drinks just gag me. I can tolerate the G2 if I am in a pinch.

I am going through the same thing. My taste buds change all the time. I can't do those "sweet" unsweetened drinks either. Right now it's plain Water, occasionally G2, and mostly water with lemon. I make a big pitcher of water, add sliced up lemons and a few limes and some ice. It is delicious! It gets more and more refreshing each day! Try it and let me know what you think!

Funny, I found the crystal light too sweet also, although now I drink a lot of the lemonade. I found a diet Decaf orange tea that I really like so drink a lot of that. It's made by turkey hill but I think that is local here in pa.

Premade like Arizona iced tea, or something like that?

I'll try the lemons, limes. If sf Powerade is too sweet, sweetened Gatorade will be, too.

Chopped up, or whole leaf?

Hey! We have the same surgeon. Dr. G is the best, isn't he? Where do you find that diet tea, Wawa maybe? I need some more options. :-)

Teavana has all kinds of great fruity teas that are calorie free. You could add Stevia to taste. The best part of the tea leaves is you can reuse them a few times. They are in malls and online. I learned a lot when I went into the store. Plus I feel like I'm drinking luxury! Lol

They gave me Propel Zero at the hospital and I am hooked. Very subtle flavor, but much better than plain Water.< /p>

I agree on the Propel Zero. I love it, it's the only one that I don't have to dilute with Water. All the rest are too sweet!

I dilute a generic crystal light tea (Walmart brand) a lot....1 stick to 32 oz of Water. I also love my Turkey Hill diet tea...usually diluted. I'm going to start making my own tea again....have you tried unsweetened tea?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
