I am 8 days post op. Had post op dr visit today. Still trying to get in 20 oz per day which i know is vrry low Will be re-admitted if I can't get fluids & Protein in really soon (48 hrs)

I've tried a lot of things. Room temp Jello (sf) hurts when it hits the"sleeve". Iced anything hurts. Protien drinks I've tried have made me very nauseated :( I've tried nectar, gnc weybolic, Isopure, unjury...

Any tips out there?

I really don't want to go back to hospital !!

thank you for the responses! So far I'm not back in hospital. I've used each tip that y'all have offered. Again, thanks so much.

It sounds like your tummy is a little raw yet. Are you on a PPI (like protonix) that might help with the extra acid. Good Luck

Baby sips, slowly slowly does it. You need to control the amount of Water or liquids you're taking in so you don't swallow an amount that is painful as it goes down or once it hits your new tummy nI had the same problem and have to take little sips frequently. Ice Popsicles helped too. Good luck

Gatorade, Gatorade and Gatorade. I "drank" mine with a spoon as if it were cold Soup. Don't worry about the carbs for now, just get it in. When things get easier, Water it down. I still turn turn to Gatorade on days like today when I just couldn't get myself to drink.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
