My husband is killing me!

When I smell something yumalicious I think to myself' date=' and sometimes out loud, "Man, that candle really smells good!"[/quote']

I do the exact same thing! Basking in the scent while taking away the association with food is actually really effective and pleasant.

Also, speaking of bacon, I've been on a ketogenic diet for 16 months. It's often referred to as the 'bacon diet', lol... Other ketoers eat it by the pound but I just can't stand bacon at all. That being said, don't knock high fat/low carb diets, there are loads of health benefits. My cholesterol was way off for years and now it's perfect thanks to the delicious bacon diet. :P

Any Janet evonavich - Stephanie Plum fans?

I love her books!

Remember when Lula went on her all meat diet and was carting around all that bacon??? LOL

Also a big fan! My favorite was her one of everything diet...one doughnut, one green bean...don't know if I can read them now they always make me crave doughnuts and pot roast w/mashed potatoes!

My biggest crave so far has been Doritos. I'm not a fan but the other day my hubby and I were watching tv and he was eating out of a LARGE bag. Smelled so good and I thought about them for hours. After he went to bed, I thought about licking the cheese off the Doritos...and putting them back in the bag :) I didn't, but it would have served him right :)

Bacon syrup ? Wow - I wonder if you could mix it into fat free plain yogurt?

Ah' date=' your not supposed to chew gum..At least that is what I was told by my team because it gets the acids flowing in your stomach and causes bubbles.....causes you to burp a lot!!!

you guys are funny!!!!!!!!!!!!

[/quote']

This makes so much sense. I think I was told that but ignored it because I LOVES my gum.

No wonder I get the burbs every day on the ride home. Never once associated the 2. WOW!

My dr said no gum because a lot of sleevers swallow it, and your new tummy gets blocked and you have to have surgery to remove it. Not trying to be a downer, but don't want to see you hospitalized, either.

I'm five months out and have no trouble with gum or straws.

My nut told me that straws are fine for some people. She said that no one is ever going to pony up money to conduct a serious straw research study. I didn't use one for the first few weeks after surgery -- then I tried, and didn't have any problems.

Can you say YUCK? Can't stand the thought of bacon flavored anything. I luv bacon but don't like it ON anything (like a burger. It's like meat on meat, yuck)

And bacon in my coffee? Nooooo...

Thanks for that. I can't imagine swallowing gum...but it's so true, anything consumable you put in your mouth you have the potential to swallow.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
