I am a nurse practitioner, so either my business partner will take them out or i will pull them myself as well as all of the sutures. I would have no problem letting my husband pull the drains.

if you want to see my before and after pic just pm me and i will show it to you.

Wow You are one brave girl... How far out are you from your VSG? The TT looks amazing the scar is so straight. I see pics on the web and it looks like Edward scissor hands got a hold of some of them. It does look painful I'm interested in the thigh lift. how hard is to walk that seems like the most uncomfortable place to be cut and this is what I would like to have done more than TT. thanks for sharing the pics I know we are all so grateful you had the guts to show.

I figured I would start a new thread to give updates on how surgery went for me and my progress. I had a lower body lift' date=' small inner thigh lift, outer thigh liposuction, breast lift an augmentation. I traveled alone to Mexico for these procedures to see dr. Sauceda.

I'm going to post some before and after pics, I know that when I was researching that I wanted to know what to expect, what I would need and really what to do. I'm open to answering any questions:)

This is by before and day 6 post op.

This was by night before and day 4 post op.

2hrs out of surgery.

Drains and incisions day of surgery

A drain in each thigh and then three in the pubic area.[/quote']

Who did you vertical sleeve in Mexico?

And who did your plastic surgery!

You're very brave. And I commend you for posting the pictures on here. Amazing

I did not have my sleeve in Mexico, I had it in Dallas. I believe that Michelle had her sleeve in porta vallarta. We both had our plastic surgery in Monterrey with Dr Sauceda. Our prices were different because we had different procedures.

Michelle, I have waffled about the thigh lift. Dr S thought I could do the "small" lift but local surgeons said I need the long incision which of course leaves a pretty bad scar. I was looking at your photos and noticed you got the "small" and wondering if you are feeling pretty good about it.

My current plan is NO thigh lift, get everything else done and then think about it. If the small would do the job, well, I might change my mind.

Here is a before picture, i think my thighs are alot worse then your started out though...

I think a small thigh lift works for you because you dont have much skin down around your knees. it is all up high. Dr S will make sure your thighs look good!!!1

thank you for posting. Plastic surgery scares the crap out of me, but I know I will need some things after all my weight is off.

I just want to take a minute to throw out a general thank you to all that are willing to share photos (particularly the gritty, unclothed, saggy skin photos). I think that most of us are going to face some really serious sagging skin and feel just as body conscious, or even worse, than we did about our weight. Seeing that we aren't the only ones that have to deal with this undesirable side effect really helps the negative self-talk where we feel like we're defective or have destroyed our bodies. We don't have to feel like we must be the only one that has skin this saggy, yada, yada, yada.

Heartfelt thanks for being so brave!

Thank you for posting all this good info. I am 8 pounds from my goal so really starting to look into plastic surgery. I was wondering how many pounds of skin did they remove? Trying to see how much additional weight I will lose. I have lost almost 160 pounds. Really can't wait for abdominal skin to go bye bye and breast lift, I am thinking about thighs and arms. I am scared about having surgery in mexico but really need to research to educate myself. Open to anything. Thanks!

Thanks so much for sharing! I'm only 2.5 months post op but it's good to see what I'll be looking at once I reach my goal and start looking into plastics.

Cheers Bec

Thanks for sharing! You are looking really good. I too want all those procedures done but am waiting to see if my insurance will pay for a panniculectomy. If not, then Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey is who I want to go to.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
