Don't rush it.... I was sooooo bored... slept on the couch so the hubby wouldnt get it. Bad flu and bad colds going around here too.

To anyone not feeling good - hope you're feeling well soon.

I'm struggling with food, just cannot seem to get my head around eating properly, never mind 5:2. I'm sabotaging myself and don't know why. Clothes are feeling the pinch and consequently I'm feeling crap. It seems an endless cycle at the moment.

It would seem the dreaded flu is all over... we too have had a house of it - a couple of weeks ago, both my children were off school with it, which is most unusual as they never have time off. My son, in particular was really poorly as his glands were up again - 2 years ago he had really bad glandular fever that took a long time for him to recover and was back and forth the hospital with... so we had to be extra vigilant with him. I've got a cough and sinus problems but it isn't too bad at the moment. Just can't seem to shake it off.

Well, my week off has gone so fast... but the good thing is that I have redecorated my living room and it is all ready for a wood/multi burner and a new sofa! Can't wait to get it finished!

On the weight front, I'm down 2 lbs this month so far - so now 2 lbs above my highest bounce range... I have tried to stick to the 5:2 but not been strict and I've done more low cal days that true fast days.

In work we have been doing a 'step challenge' where we have to walk 10,000 steps each day... I started it late in, so I've only been doing it for one week. I haven't really made a huge effort this past week as I wanted to see what my 'normal' step would be... I have only made the 10,000 mark once! And there was me thinking I was active! Granted whilst painting and decorating I wasn't really moving my legs much... but still the steps I did do were a lot lower than I would of guessed... It will be interesting to see how many steps I do in work and compare the two weeks.

I am guessing that the reason my weight loss is soooo slow, is the fact that I am a lot more inactive that I thought... which means I really need to get my head back in the exercise mode again. I know I keep saying it but I really do need to get on with it... feel free to kick my ar*e if I start making excuses!

Hugs to you all...

I find I have to walk around 5 miles to make 10,000 steps... I NEVER get in that many, am lucky to make 7,000 on a really good day :(  It still helps though, I really don't know how people do it! ( guess if you walk to work or something...)

I tried a fitbit and it registered "activity" when I was sitting at my desk. I think everytime I fidget or reach for something it registers it. I declared it bogus and returned it for a refund. I suspect the old style pedometers are more accurate, but people love their fitbits! Anyway as a person with a desk job, it is frankly hard to get 7 miles in without going for a run which my knee can't do...

Well, I have regained nearly 5# since being sick. Still in the 150s but dang it! That was fast. I got so hungry and felt too sick to cook so I was eating crap like Breakfast Cereal and even had pizza.

I am much improved but still coughing. What I know from others it is easy for this flu to become a secondary illness so being careful to not overdo it as I recover.

I did stop by my friends where my horses are living temporarily. I am not sure, but I think they might be trying to set me up with someone. I like the idea of meeting someone through mutual friends but he is the brother of my good friend (male) girlfriend. So might be too close because if things dont work out, I am definitely the loser in that situation (girlfriend's brother triumphs palpal I think). Given the nature of these things, factors like this must be considered! I dunno, maybe I am reading it wrong because he didn't actually ask me out and in fact was not even directly flirting but I still sorta think something is up.

Well back to work after a fairly crappy couple of days.

Watched several odd and not widely known shows from Netflix. witching and bitching - group of idiots (with a child in tow) rob a bank and try to flee only to be trapped by a coven of witches. Spanish film, action, dark comedy, battle of the sexes, secrect gay lovers, psuedohorror, and subtitles all in one!

Four Lions is a British film about some Pakistan men living in London who decide to become terrorists. It is funny, sad, and oddly sympathetic. I don't mean you sympathize with the acts of terror, more them as people. And how funny is it that they go to Pakistan to train, only to accidentally blow up their mentors on day one? Ok, I have a thing for black comedy.

My friend is a firefighter and he told me over 50percent of the people in that career were messed up adrenalin junkies who wanted an in control way of experiencing that chaos...firefighting being perfect for it. I thought those young men in the movie were really "seekers" and fell into this by accident but could very well have become firefighters or something like that instead.

well at the end of my working day I did just over 6500 steps... that is what I would expect for my job as I rarely sit down... I am always up and around my classroom as I prefer to be an active rather than passive teacher.

I am gonna try and get to 10,000 by bed time, which might mean that I am walking on the spot tonight!

Think there is anything different for us versus regular ones?

Coops...I am a spaz so wish I had a job where I wasn't literally tied to my computer. My headset is like a leash. I like to move around but really can't. (When I say spaz, I mean the kind of person who is physically more inclined to move around)

Years ago I had a wireless headset but it wasn't reliable.thinking I need to try that again as it would probably help me listen better during those long meetings. Back in the day when we used to meet in person, I was a doodler and note taker which helped me listen and remember. People knew I could recall details of meetings even months later my memory was very good but I had to learn how to use my other senses besides hearing to really absorb. It is much harder now that almost everything is over a computer line.

I don't know when I last updated everyone.  I don't remember if I told you all that I had a 2nd surgery. When I went to the infection specialist, I wasn't in her office 5 min. before she said you need to be admitted to the hospital immediately and I will find you a surgeon to clean out all the infection. I was operated on at midnight.

I was in the hospital for 5 days. They placed a picc line on my arm and I have to shoot antibiotics in my line 3 times a day. I hate it so much.

Apparently, this infection has affected my brain. Somebody please correct me if it's supposed to be effected my brain. Superbowl Sunday, my daughter and her family were here and I have no memory of it at all. I know a couple of our friends were there, but I don't remember my own daughter and her family being there.

So hopefully, I will get this thing out of my arm in 6 weeks. I go to the hospital once a week to get the dressing changed and labs drawn. If my labs are okay, then I can have the picc line removed.

I am really depressed. REALLY REALLY depressed.

Bill and I decided that we would make better friends and that we just don't work as a couple. So that's been hard too. Even though we are very different, I care a great deal about him and I miss him. I haven't wanted to see anyone else. I've been glued to the tv to keep my mind off stuff. I watched 5 seasons of Parenthood on Netflix and I was bummed when it ended. I know there are more seasons besides those 5 cause they left it hanging.

I had heard from people when the show ended that they were really bummed that it was over. So I decided to ck it out and I loved that series.

I've been trying not to pig out and I've been staying right at 140. I am in no mood whatsoever to diet.

Denise, glad you have checked in, I was wondering how you are. Is the surgeon happy how the op went and are you feeling any better (physically) as a result?

Sorry you are feeling so down emotionally, you have gone such a lot recently. I don't know what to say to pick you up, just sending you a big {{hug}}.

Denise, did the second surgery help? Is the infection clearing up? I am worried about you beautiful lady. I would be depressed too, but you have to keep visualizing being fully recovered, painfree and healthy. Your mind is so powerful...use it to make yourself believe in a full recovery.

I am the queen of netflix benders....sometimes I like to just zone out and it is my guilty pleasure. Tell me what kind of shows you like and I can recommend some. Warning, I have a thing for black comedy, British shows and documentaries....

Well, I have lost the weight I regained while sick. At 156. I do believe I will see 140s sometime in 2015...Haha....or at least close enough! It's wonderful that my clothes aren't so tight. That 160 thing is pushing it.... I belong in the 145-155 range!

Heading out to ride!

I am not sure if the infection is clearing up. I am shooting antibiotics into the line in my arm 3 times a day, so I hope so. I see the infection doctor next week and maybe I will find out.

They have been drawing labs weekly, and I am sure the information must be getting faxed to her.

I like documentaries, I don't like science fiction. I loved Parenthood which is about 4 adult kids, their kids, and the parents are Craig  T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedilia. I hope they get the rest of the seasons on Netflix cause when it ended, they left a lot of stuff hanging. I need to google to find out how many seasons there are. I know people were talking recently that they were sad that the show was ending. that's what made me interested in it.

I don't like British stuff cause I can never understand what they are saying.

I like comedy and drama, as long as it's in the real world. A lot of people are talking about that show Once Upon a Time. It's all storybook characters. I would not like that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
