I'm scheduled for July 23rd. I meet with surgeon next week. I am so glad I found this forum. Everytime I get a little anxious about the future, I come hear and read. It relaxes me. Thanks for sharing your journeys!

One more day July 2nd sleevers! I'm prepping my hospital bag, finishing up the house chores and gardening- just trying to stay busy! With all this nervous energy I should have the house **** and span in no time. It's soooo hot for the Seattle area this week- today it's supposed to be 90 degrees and we have an excessive heat warning issued. I had a hard time sleeping last night since we have no AC and I fear tonight will be even worse with the heat & surgery combined. I ate my last food at midnight last night- on Clear Liquids for today. Hopefully I don't end up too hungry by tomorrow AM! I can't wait to hear all about people's experiences with prep, surgery and recovery....we got this! Don't forget to take measurements, weight, and lots of good before pics from all angles- you'll want them for comparison later on!

I'm set for July 9th!!! Have some Protein shots, B12, multi, Biotin (to prevent hair loss I've read about), D3, bouillon, sugar free ice pops, Jello, and some shakes. Still need to pick up a new scale and flavorless Protein Powder. Figure I won't be eating that much the first week. Good luck to those having surgery this week!!!!

we'll be sleeved the same day!!

Best of luck!

Ill be right there with ya!!!! I find out my time tonight and I am anxiously waiting by the phone for that call. I haven't even been hungry at all today. Did you have to do the liquid diet before? I only have a one day liquid diet...today. I found some ensure clear drinks at target just a moment ago and will have one of those if the hunger pangs start. Good luck to you!!!

Hi Kimberly! I just had to do one day of clear liquids- July 1st. Did great- not even a tummy rumble- I think my stomach is used to me ignoring it now! I had a low carb, high Protein diet for about 2 1/2 weeks beforehand- got better as time went on. Dang, your surgery is early- but better early than late when you can't eat or drink I guess! I can't wait to hear how your surgery went! See you on the sleeved side!....I've gotta figure out a nickname for my sleeve...better not do that while I'm on drugs after surgery- LOL!

I have been tentatively scheduled for 22 July pending approval of my appeal. I am getting really freaked out about how long it is going to take to get the approval back. Accoring to my doc. he was told to get just a few things fixed on my paperwork and it would fly through I really hope that they will get me in. Cross your fingers for me ok?

Heres an update. I called Blue Cross yesterday they told me that my surgery was approved and was in the system. I should be recieving the letter in a few days. I called my doctors office and they have me scheduled for the 22nd of July. I will start my 10 day preop diet next week. I am so excited and ready for this. I want to lose weight so bad and get back in shape so I can enjoy my retirement. Wish me luck

My date is July 18th and I am so excited! I believe the devil is in planning, so I am putting together an after surgery survival box! Contain, everything I MAY need, so I don't have to send hubby to store...including a calendar of when I can eat what types of foods. In addition, I am putting in some of my "fat" pictures and some pictures of when I was skinny? Also including a list of why I chose the surgery and a list of what I look forward to most after surgery....I may need some emotional reminders!!

Many of the items I will include are ideas I got from this forum (gas x, colace, etc). I think this is helping my hubby too...as he is gaining confidence of how to help me post-op!

Good luck to all!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
