cinward' date=' I am past the point of frustration now with my weight loss...I lost 20 lbs the first two weeks when I was on the post-op liquid phase; as soon as I started eating soft foods, I hit a stall...for the first week and even the second week, I tried to be patient and listened to others who had stalls up to 2 weeks...but I am now 5 weeks out from surgery and have lost maybe an additional 2 lbs in the last 3 weeks...I just think it is ridiculous and unheard of...I am following the program my surgeon and nutritionist set for me...some days I get 500-600 calories in but can't quite reach my Protein goal...on days when I meet or exceed my Protein goal, I may eat between 700 and 800 calories...I am also walking daily...pre-surgery, I was pretty much eating what I wanted, and I am certain I was eating 2000 calories most days...and I wasn't doing much exercise if any...I wasn't losing weight--true--but I wasn't gaining weight either...it is very frustrating to make such drastic changes to your body and with your eating habits but to not see results...I have been worrying about it seriously for over a week and am almost to the point of regretting the surgery...but it's not reversible and I have to continue the program...I am basically just throwing my hands up and just convincing myself that "it is what it is"[/quote']

I am also 5 weeks out and stalled the last 3 since I started food. I can tell in my clothes and how I feel though!!! Best wishes to you! We WILL lose it!!! We have a great future!!!

tigerbelle - your story sounds just like mine. I hit 5 weeks out this last Thursday. I lost 18 lbs pre-op and only 6.6 since the surgery. Now' date=' let me say, that is a 24.6 lb loss in 7 weeks. I am so grateful! I do get discouraged thinking that I am the only sleever who isn't losing. I get between 40-70 grams of Protein every single day, but I do not always get 64 oz of Water in addition to Protein shakes (there is some disagreement about whether or not you can count Protein Shakes toward your Water intake). I am exercising more than I did before surgery with walking, riding a recumbent bike and, starting tomorrow, water aerobics. Not sure why you and I are stalled for so long. Because everyone else on the forums seems to be losing like crazy, I felt the same as you: "It's unheard of" to be losing so little. But now we have found one another! I am trying really hard not be discouraged and not to regret the surgery. Perhaps we can encourage each other along the way privately. I will send you a friend request. Best wishes for lots of losing![/quote']

I am in the same boat!!!

This thread is one of the best things about this forum. Those that are unsure and frustrated can turn to others and get supported and reassured :-) As per doctors orders I was on a diet then the 2 week pre-op diet (April 1st till surgery). I was sleeved on May 1st. I lost 10 lbs in April and 10 in May. From the third week in May till now I haven't lost a single pound! I'm eating 800-950 calories, doing so-so on Protein, less than good on Water, walking everyday..it's so frustrating! I'm doing everything right according to the nutritionist and surgeon and they both patted my hand and said I will lose the weight but..sigh..wth? Reading about others whose weight is just flying off is now making me heavy hearted so it's good to hear I'm not alone! I'm trying to remain positive and appreciate everyone whose idea of support is sharing their story and remaining POSITIVE despite the frustration :-) thx! Those that are negative I'll just try harder to ignore ;-)

There is something good about finding others in the same boat. I really thought I was doing something wrong. Knowing I'm not alone in my struggle helps so much. The weight WILL come off...I guess it will just take some of us longer.

It will give our skin more time to spring back!

We didn't gain 100 lbs in a month so we can't expect to lose it that fast

Our blood pressure won't drop so dramatically that we pass out in public

Lots of positives...lol. I really am happy I'm not alone.

My surgery was 5/23. Ive only lst 16# pst op but 35 total Counting preop.

I'm averaging 900 calories a day and about 70g Protein 4 weeks out...I have been losing and gaining the same 3 pounds this past week. I emailed my NUT last week and she said 600-900 was a good calorie goal and protein was good. I wasnt having a wt loss standoff a week ago.

Since I've advanced my diet. It seems Im Also able to eat more. I've also been hungry at meal time. Had no energy at 600 cal but feel better and "normal" at 900 cal.

Not doing any exercise routine yet. Just very active caring for 21 month old Grandaughter. Will start back at Gym this week. But concerned ill need more calories if I'm working out?!

Trying to get more Water in. Also had a "normal" bm today. That can certainly help I'm sure.

to all my fellow stallers at 3weeks +, I think we need to start our own sub support group  what shall we call ourselves? the "stallers" sounds too much like "stalkers"...maybe we could call ourselves the IMPS (for "impatient losers")...I guess I am just trying to be light-hearted and find humor to deflect my continued frustration...I was telling leantoit in a personal message that I was thrilled when I got on the scale this morning and saw a one pound drop...now you know it's pathetic when you've stalled so long that even a one-pound loss thrills you...but, I am perfectly aware that the assumed well fought for pound might return once again tomorrow morning  and I know I shouldn't be weighing every day but I just can't help it now...let's just all hang in there together and support each other...oh, and I sincerely am happy for my fellow May sleevers who are experiencing quicker losing :)

I'll join the group...I was excited about 4/10ths of a pound. We could be the "lazy losers" or the loser wannabes, or the last to lose losers, or the...ok I'll stop...but I could keep going.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
