I see nothing wrong with deserving some popcorn. If you want the popcorn have the popcorn. I had some popcorn. It was very tasty. And not only that - I had said popcorn at the movies ( waiting for mortified gasp of horror from the popcorn analysts )! It was delicious' date=' it did not send me into a spiral into banned food hell, and I was able to recognize when I was full and put it down. Didn't gain a single ounce from my dastardly deed.

Have the popcorn! Personally, I think I deserve a huge t-bone steak. Too bad I would only be able to eat 3 bites. Maybe I'll have more popcorn instead. I was able to eat 10 to12 bites of it.[/quote']

I love you Sharon!!

I so glad it all comes so easy for you! I chose to change some of the behaviors that helped get me so fat, food rewards was one of them! Enjoy your steak!!

Sleeved on 4/24-i went to the movies recently and had Nachos...i know that chips are a slider food, not harming py little pouch so I was ok in having a few...I only had a few and put the rest down, simply because the craving that I thought I had I really didnt. It was salty, the cheese was horrid. It used to be my staple at the theater. I sat there drinking my Crystal Lite really satisfied.

I am terrified of popcorn because of the kernels so i am staying clear of them. I have had trouble getting Calcium in so i wanted to try it in different forms. I had a serving of rice crispies, splenda, and a lot of milk for dinner. Later that night I gagged on a crispie that was lodged somewhere..so no more for me!

I just ate some trader joes popcorn cooked in olive oil with a hint of salt. Was this a bad idea? I work out 4 times a week and have a physical job. Im 7 weeks post op. I think I deserve a little popcorn.

Try TJ's No Guilt popcorn or Skinny Pop!! Both are great and 39 calories/cup.

Thanks for the sentiment. I actually haven't had the steak yet but when I do I'm pretty sure it will go down easy enough. I did have more popcorn yesterday. It was delicious. I suppose all of us had the surgery for basically the same reasons. If your new eating habits don't include popcorn or steak - well great. I'm sure all of us wish you nothing but success in developing your new eating habits. Fortunately, some of us can incorporate popcorn and all kinds of other foods into our new eating habits with no difficulty. As far as rewarding ourselves with food, I think it's just terrible that you are unable to do so and I'm sorry that moderation in rewarding yourself isn't an option for you. Some of us can manage, some of us can't. That's why we do the best we can and try to refrain from thinking one size fits all as far as eating habits after surgery. Hopefully one day everyone can be moderate in choosing how to reward themselves. Until then, some will have their cake and eat it too and others will not.

Blah blah it's not healthy' date=' it is healthy, stuck in the colon or between your teeth! The telling part is not the popcorn, it's the behavior of rewarding yourself with food !!! Why can't the improved health of going to the gym or some new clothes or spa time be your reward? The fact that you feel you " deserve " some popcorn is scary to me! I had to take a good look at that and make changes there myself !! Good luck to you![/quote']

That was negative. Look different strokes for Different folks. My rewards are the looks I get from females on the train or everyone saying how far ive come or how good I look because of my weight loss and also me eating fat free trader joes popcorn a hand ful once a week. Ok thank you.

My husband suffers from that. Brought him to his knees! Glad it's better for you now.

As always you should follow what your own doctor says. They know your medical history. For me' date=' I really trust Kaiser. Their bariatric program is outstanding! The doctor who ran the program in my area for years before recently retiring, IS the smartest man I will ever meet in my lifetime when it comes to weight issues. It is his life's passion and I would not be where I am today without the gift Of his knowledge!!

popcorn is one of the things on my NF list. (Never Forever)[/quote']

I would love to know the 'never forever' list.... Is Kasier available online? I'm only 5 days out, but don't know of any foods that I can never eat again....? This would be helpful, I think!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
