Add to my playlist- Feeling good (cover by Muse)

The Good Life (One Republic),

Now is the Start (A Fine Frenzy) - "New start in the end

There is a

New heart under there

Beneath these

New parts everywhere

It is a new, new, new, new start"

It's Time- Imagine Dragons. (Love this band- for me this is saying when I lose my weight I won't lose the core of who I am personality wise)

Invincible- Muse. Theme for all of us as team VST!

"Follow through

Make your dreams come true

Don't give up the fight

You will be alright

'Cause there's no one like you in the universe

Don't be afraid

What your mind conceives

You should make a stand

Stand up for what you believe

And tonight

We can truly say

Together we're invincible

During the struggle

They will pull us down

But please, please

Let's use this chance

To turn things around

And tonight

We can truly say

Together we're invincible

Do it on your own

It makes no difference to me

What you leave behind

What you choose to be

And whatever they say

Your souls unbreakable

During the struggle

They will pull us down

But please, please

Let's use this chance

To turn things around

And tonight

We can truly say

Together we're invincible

Together we're invincible

During the struggle

They will pull us down

Please, please

Let's use this chance

To turn things around

And tonight

We can truly say

Together we're invincible

Together we're invincible"

I am a Stone ~Demon Hunter

It's Hard to Say

That I'm Back

On a Straight Line

You See My Path

Is In Fact

Just A Fall Line

It's In My Blood, It's In My Lungs

And It Won't Die

I Fight These Words, I Bite My Tongue

So I Don't Lie

Though It's Me to Blame

There is No More Shame in Me

In Me?

I Just Feel the Same

Immune to All This Pain

And the Scars Don't Write a Song for Me At All?

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

Your Fool I Will Not Be

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

(I Am a Stone)

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

(I Am a Stone)

Your Fool I Will Not Be

I Try to See and Believe

In the Short Side

Accept the Burn of A Vein

And A Half-Life

And How You Rest Your Faith in These for a Lifetime

That Hollow Lie Against My Hope That I Won't Buy

Though It's Me to Blame

There is No More Shame in Me

In Me?

I Just Feel the Same

Immune to You Say

And the Scars Don't Write a Song for Me At All?

No Your Tears Won't Line A Path for me to Crawl

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

Your Fool I Will Not Be

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

(I Am a Stone)

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

(I Am a Stone)

Your Fool I Will Not Be

The Waters Rise Above My Eyes

I Will Breathe It In and Go Out With the Tide

And When You Think This is The End

You Will Find Me There Where I Have Always Been

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

Your Fool I Will Not Be

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

Your Fool I Will Not Be

I Am a Stone, Unaffected

(I Am a Stone)

Rain Hell Down Onto Me

Flesh and Bone, Unaffected

(I Am a Stone)

Your Fool I Will Not Be

I Am a Stone?

I Am a Stone

While I do not want to take over the OP's thread, I think that simply putting the song name and perhaps the chorus, bridge, or most important lines of the song maybe more helpful in understanding each of our journey's than posting the entire song. With that in mind, I will add that this was merely a suggestion. I love reading this thread, but I hate having to keep scrolling to read the entire song when I really want to read the next post.

Sorry Guys... today I have been acting real witchy but I am still trying to remain cordial. Forgive me.....

Meanwhile, I think I've found THE BEST SONG EVER for my sleeve journey, and heck, for life in general. I've never heard this prior to five minutes ago, but I think I'm in love. I can see myself using this as a soundtrack for a post-op workout, easily!

The complete lyrics are in the video--give it a look!

It's not how you start, it's how you finish,

And it's not where you're from, it's where you're at.

Everybody gets knocked down, (repeat)

How quick are you gonna' get up? (repeat)

Like Ali in the jungle,

Like Nelson in jail,

Like Simpson on the mountain,

With odds like that, they were bound to fail

Like Keller in the darkness,

Like Adams in the dock,

Like Ludwig Van, how I loved that man,

Well, the guy went deaf and didn't give a f@@k, no...

action-smiley-035.gif Had to get on iTunes and buy it--best 99 cents I've spent in a LONG time!

Afterward? Every song by P!NK

P!NK kicks @ss in every song she puts her voice to. When my daughter was around 5-6, we used to listen to "Stupid Girls" in the car, daily. I like to think it influenced her in the right direction, since she's 13 now and has no patience for the types of girls in that song. Score!

My song would be Alycia Keys- Brand New Me

Brand New Me"

It's been a while I'm not who I was before

You look surprised Your words don't burn me anymore

Been meanin' to tell ya But I guess it's clear to see

Don't be mad It's just a brand new kinda me

Can't be bad I found a brand new kinda free

Careful with your ego

He's the one that we should blame

Had to grab my heart back God knows something had to change

I thought that you'd be happy I found the one thing I need

Why you mad? It's just a brand new kinda me

"Never bad I found a brand new kinda free. Ooh..."

****** It took a long' date=' long road to get here

It took a brave, brave girl to try

It took one too many excuses, one too many lies

Don't be surprised, don't be surprised********

If I talk a little louder, If I speak up when you're wrong

If I walk a little taller I've been under you too long

If you notice that I'm different, Don't take it personally

Don't be mad It's just a brand new kinda me

"That ain't bad I found a brand new kinda free."

Ooh, it took a long, long road to get here

It took a brave, brave girl to try

I've taken one too many excuses, one too many lies

Don't be surprised, oh, said, you look surprised

Hey, if you were a friend

You'd wanna get to know me again

If you were worth while You'd be happy to see me smile

I'm not expecting sorry I'm too busy finding myself I got this I found me, I found me, yeah

I don't need your opinion

I'm not waiting for your "OK"

I'll never be perfect, But at least now I'm brave

I know my heart is open I can finally breathe

Don't be mad It's just a brand new kinda free

That ain't bad I found a brand new kinda me

Don't be mad [one version:'] It's a brand new time for me

IT'S JUST A BRAND NEW TIME FOR ME...

This is my sleeve journey song too :)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
