I had surgery December 4 with a starting weight of 239. I was a lap band revision and I have been at a stall for the last 3 weeks. Ugh it's seems as if the scale won't budge from 194. Should I try the 5 day pouch test and see if I can kick start my loss again? I know I shouldn't be discouraged because that's 45lbs gone forever but wow it is discouraging. Any suggestions? I average 60-80 grams of Protein a day and keep my carbs low and my calories around 600-800. Help

There are a lot of opinions about calories out there, so take this with a grain of salt - but personally I think your caloric intake is way too low. I was sleeved 6 days after you and my doctor and nut want me up to 1200-1500. I manage 1000-1200 most days. I've lost about 59lbs. The only stall I've had was one week when I didn't lose. Other than that, I score a loss (albeit some weeks a small one) every week.

You may want to try and up your calories for a couple of weeks (still prioritize Protein over carbs) and see what happens.

I haven't seen my doctor since a month out from my surgery. I am due next week however the hubby and I. Will be in Jamaica so I see my doc on the 22nd. I may try upping my calories and see what results I get.

I stalled a couple of times. I was able to break through by boosting my Protein intake up a little. We forget that as we lose and become more active our body's needs change. I was actually going into starvation mode. As soon as I did that, I started losing again.

I agree with them... I am only 6 weeks out but found out I wasnt earing enough.. I am also watong 600-700cals. My nut told me that isnt enough and all thats gonna do is slow down your metabolism and have slower weight loss. Alot of people have a misconception the smaller amount of food you eat... the faster and more youll loose. Totally false. I am not teying my damnest to up my calories. They want me at 800-1000 cals.

Not enough calories. If you don't get in enough calories, not only will you stall, but your body will start eating away at your muscle instead of your fat. Call you NUT or doc if you're really worried about it.

I appreciate this thread. I've completely stalled too. My surgery was March 14th. I was down 22 pounds but this week I actually gained 3. Not sure how that happens. I've upped my walking to 3 miles a day and today I got in 90g Protein and increased my calories to 900. I had been getting in 65g protein and my calorie count has been @ 500. Hope this works!! I've been logging my food daily on MFP.

When I upped my calories from 500 to now at least 800-900 I started loosing weight. I wonder if its a metabolism thing, you need to find your optimal zone. Try different foods, mix it up a bit.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
