Help! First date after weightloss

Recommended Posts

I am 8 months out and I've been single for 4 months. I am going on a first date tonight with someone I just met online on Match. I am so nervous. Insecure. I've gone from 265 to 185 lbs and feel great, but not dating great. Not sure either on how am I gonna explain the small amount of food I'll be able to consume. I think a first date is too soon to tell someone I had gastric surgery. Please help me!!!!

Hi Kiki, I agree, I would not tell him about your surgery this soon. Aside from that, just relax and try to enjoy yourself. The most attractive quality we can possess is confidence and you have a lot to be confident about!! You have been on a journey the last 8 months and this is a great way to Celebrate where your journey has brought you so far. I am proud of you!!!

I'm also going on my first two dates this weekend I'm three weeks out. Just be confident in yourself. They want to go out for a reason and if you don't want to tell them a out your surgery then don't. He obviously has an I retest in you for more then just your looks, have fun!

At 8 months post op your meal shouldn't raise any red flags. While your portion will be small it won't be alarming. Try ordering a Soup or appetizer. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
