Mine went way down this last 20 pounds. I was a 44 dd when I started journey...last week I had to buy a 36 d...with padding! Not happy with that! Now I need to go get some boobs!

I have lost 101lbs and went from a DD42 to a DD34 in plus size bras. When I went into the plus size store to get measured for a new bra, she said "I wondered why you were in here"! I notice that my boobs aren't as full as they were and they squish into things more easily.

That is my biggest fear and I know that sounds really childish, but I am so worried about that. I was a 36B by whole life, until 7 years ago when I had my son; I am a 40DD, I am so worried that after surgery my cup size will shrink! I was talking with my mom the other day about a boob job after surgery. Has anyone gotten a boob job after surgery?

I went for new bras twice already. I had been measured once at migh high weight, and was told I was a 46B/C to start. After surgery, 40lbs later, I got measured at a new place, and she said I was a 42DD. I said how did they get bigger cup-wise?

So, I buy one bra, and order a few more. When the others get delivered two weeks later, I go in and I get measured again, because I didn't beleive the DD part. Well, the lady says I am not a 42DD, I was now a 38 DD. So, they let me return the new bras for some smaller ones. I'm happy with the way the girls are looking in the right-size bra.

I'm down about 90lbs and my boobs have always been small. For someone 380lbs my boobs were tiny lol. I was a 46 C though I wore D bras but my actual cup since was a C. Now I definitely notice volume loss in the actual breast and its more skin then full tissue. Part of my boob feels almost like tissue paper skin. It's weird, especially when pushed up in a push up bra it feels all strange I can't explain it lol. I'm in some of the same bras but only because I was smushed into them before. My best fitting bra is a 42 C, though my cup is definitely more on the B side. I'm pretty sure if I ever get to goal ill be and A cup lol

I must be missing something. How can you get bigger because of skin.. You're not getting anymore skin than you had in there before.

I'm not sure, bt I will give it a try. The cup size is determined based on the difference between the measurements of the lower chest area (band size) and the fullest part. In my case, I lost a lot of back fat, but my boobs haven't really changed in size or shape at all. I guess that might account for the difference as my lower measurement (band size) has decreased with the weight loss but the other number hasn't changed.

This is how people are gaining cup sizes:

Measuring your band size is pretty self explanatory - around the ribs, where your bra band sits. Then you measure around the fullest part of your breast. If your breast measurement is 1 inch larger than your band size, then you are an A cup. 2 inches bigger, then a B cup. and so on. (rough ideas on measuring for the example)

So if you start as a 40 B, that would mean the fullest part of your breast measures 42". If you lose some band sizes, and your breast size stays the same, it would increase the cup size. If you are now 36 in band size, but your breast size still measures 42" then the difference between cup size and band size is 6" and that would lead to a size DDD cup. So your new bra would be 38DDD.

Make any sense?

My thoughts exactly lol

When you have a bigger band size the cup will be bigger than if you have a smaller band size...for example a 44DD cup will be much bigger than a 36DD cup, so that's why in some cases you'll have to go up a bigger cup size after losing weight!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
