January Bandsters???

Recommended Posts

Hi Amy,

:welcomeB: to the January Bandsters! How are you enjoying your band experience?

I had my third fill today. It's really kickin' my butt. I am not used to having any restriction. It feels like just after the surgery! I actually pb'd and slimed, that has never happened to me before. I was even taking small bites and chewing very well. Hopefully, it will calm down a little. I now have 2.5cc in my 4.00cc band. Hope everyone else is doing well!!

Just checking in...

I must say I've been doing pretty good with the exercise. You can all check out my journal and kick my butt if I miss a day! LOL!

On the other hand, I'm still frustrated with my lack of weight loss. Especially with my crazy exercising over the past two weeks! I think I may need another fill, though I hate to admit it. I've been eating about 1 cup at meals, which I know is too much, but that is what fills me up.

Anyhoo... a big welcome to the new peeps. Glad to have you here!

Maria

Just checking in everyone! I haven't posted on the thread in a while, but I've been reading! Everyone is doing so great! I am glad I have you all to go through this with.

I love my band!

It seems like my weight loss goes in spurts though. I'll get stuck at a weight for a while, then one morning, boom! down a pound or two! I love those days!

I have my second fill scheduled for 4/24. I can't wait. My fill is really sporatic. I am still eating MUCH less than before, but still more than I should.

Exercise has been a challenge too! Warm weather is just around the corner though. I am feelins so energized with my weight loss. I can't wait to take my daughter and doggie for walks in the evening!

Good Evening all

:update: :update:

I have come to realize that the pill I thought was stuck was actually my restriction. I am so restricted that I had my first pb/sliming tonight. My TOM was starting so I put my master cleanse on hold, but I have no choice but to do the master cleasnse. Drinking is the one thing I can do. So I am going to try to finish that for the full ten days and see what happens. I am going to the nutritionist tomorrow but I don't want to lose my restriction just yet. But wow it took it almost a full week to really really kick in. So I am going to let it alone for two weeks and maybe some will be absorbed. I can do mushies and my Protein Water. Maybe that and my exercise will kick my weight loss into serious gear.

Welcome all new comers. :welcome:

January Bandsters ROCK!!!! We support each other !!!!!

so once again welcome

I did a Master Cleanse last month, are you doing the one with lemon & maple (grade :( Syrup? I think I'm going to do it again next week after my fill on the 17th, since I have to be on liquids anyhow.

Question. How do you get your Protein in doing the cleanse? Do you do a Liquid Protein drink?

I did a fast before, under the guidance of a herbalist, and he had me drink a rice based Protein Drink daily.

Just asking, because since you've mentioned it, I'm actually thinking about it for next week after my fill. Especially since my doctor has me on liquids after each fill anyway.

Well, I really didn't get the protein in, the cleanse is only a liquid drink only, no other Proteins should be drank while doing this cleanse. But, I only did it for about 7 days. Here is a link/information on it:

Yes that's the one that I am doing. I actually have the book The Master Cleanse. I read the book thoroughly and it states that u recieve all the nutrients u need from the liquid. I have an appointment with the nutrionist today to see if it's ok for me to do. Hopefully it is because I am not going to get a unfill I am going to let it absorb on it's on. It's not that bad even if I have to go back to mushies I will be fine. I will let you know the outcome this evening

Welcome! How are things going?

Hey there! Can I get on the January list even though my surgery was February 1st? I find the February people are a little too for behind me (although I'm on their list too) to answer my questions so I've been drifting onto this thread.

After 2 fills my experience is that "Full" doesn't feel the same as it used to. With the added restriction of the second fill I find I reach the painful, "I'm about to have a heart attack" stage, before I ever feel full. After one bad episode (now I know what PBing and Sliming are!!) I can identify the feeling and stop eating before it happens. What's weird though is that sometimes I can eat more than others so I have to be really conscious of my body and how I'm feeling as I'm eating to know when to stop. The "20 minute, eat slowly rule" are words to live by.

Just came back from the nutritionist and she told me I could not do the cleanse. She said that with the band we are not getting the calories we need and she doesn't want me to do the cleanse where I am not eating anything. She said I want you to eat. So I have to eat. BUt I did say that once a week I will do the salt Water flush to make sure I am eliminating like I should be.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
