I would love love love some popcorn...

Recommended Posts

You know how you start thinking about some particular food and pretty soon you've convinced yourself that it is the most fabulous food in the world (even when you don't normally "love" it....just enjoy having it once in a while) and you cannot live without it? When I was kid a a got obsessed with having to have a radish. Yes, a radish. No idea why -- maybe I saw it on tv and thought it looked good. I kept asking my mother to buy a radish to put in my salads (yes, I was on a diet as a kid). But once I started thinking about it I became obsessed with having a radish. She told me that I had the wrong idea about what a radish will taste like... she was right...yuck.

So anyway, I've been thinking about popcorn for a few days and I have now convinced myself that it is a terrible tragedy that I cannot have popcorn....I like popcorn but suddenly it is my favorite food....and I can't have it....

Just thought I'd share...

I don't know but know that I still can't have it.....Think I can at 6 months, but it is hard for me to only eat a little bit...so may still avoid it.

Yes, that's what I thought, but couldn't remember. It's six months before we can have any seeds or nuts, etc., right?

Well I can tell you that I could NEVER go to the movies without getting my popcorn with lots of the buttery oil on it and a Dr. Pepper, Well I went to the movies Wednesday night to see Safe Haven and I packed a dill pickle and a cheese stick and some Decaf sugar free iced tea (I would have bought from the theater but they didn't sell any of these). Anyway I walked right past the concession stand and didn't even think about it. I shocked myself. but yes I would love some popcorn if it wasn't dangerous to my sleeve. I'm almost 5 weeks post op.

Im 4 months post op an I will actually have 1/3 - 1/2 cup portion once a week. it my one and only cheat, and it goes down well. it doesnt make me gain or loose that day but its worth it to me lol. I was told by my nurse that carbs will get suck in my throat, or I would have dumping syndrome. well they dont lol Im happy about that. I can handle them in very small amounts. I havent told this to my nurse though. Really if its not affecting me in a negative way then I think its ok.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
