I might have to go to the mt pleasant meeting sometimes. I wonder if it matters which one I go to??? I am so stressed with this new job wondering if I made the right decision.

Hello viper ! I get my 2nd fill nov 20th. Losing is slow. I need to watch my calories now that I can eat "normal" again. Good luck everyone on losing this week.

Good morning all,

Beautiful morning and the weather feels great, wish I could be home but, thankful for a job.

Hope everyone have a blessed day!!!!!!!

Forgot to tell that Dr. H looks great. I asked about the surgery and when could I possibly think about having the Lipo done and he said usually in about a yr/two. Lisa, how do I camoflauge this "apron" of mine? LOL

Camoflage = Spanx

Okay...I think I may have a stomach bug...anybody been through that??? What do I do? I've never had tummy illness before and I'm not sure what to do with the band.

I will have to go out and buy the Spanx. After being overweight all my life, 5 kids, a set of twins and a baby after 40 I definately have the apron thing going on. My poor body couldn't swing back if it tried. My apron could though!!!LOL

Lo2us, if you are talking about a throwing up bug, better call the doc. Do you still have some Phenergan? You may have to go with whatever will stay down. Jello, Gatorade, crackers and maybe dry toast when your stomach feels more stable. Sure don't want to stay over the toilet, not good for the band. Yours maybe set in place pretty good by now but try not to do all that heaving if possible. Take care and hope you are feeling better soon.

Lisa, what kinda cheating? Better be good, Susan might get you. LOL

Teresa, new jobs are stressfull. New ways, new people, ect. Give yourself a little more time. I have a feeling you will be fine.

I just threw up once yesterday and took some pepto and it helped a LOT! I suggest keeping some on hand. I think I need rest more than anything.

I've been messing around with some virtual models on my virtual model from the prevention magazine site. It can show you what you will sort of look like at different weights. You can put in your height and weight, build and face and hair types and it produces a similar model. I searched weight loss virtual model and found it. Y'all might want ot play around with it. I thought my target weight would be too heaving, but that weight that Dr. H set will look pretty darn good and healthy from what the model showed me. I will try to figure out how to post her on here some way so you can see what I'm talking about.

Good morning all,

Well, as of today, I can still eat a bear and not feeling all that great.:sick I think I might be getting a cold or something. Can anyone tell me when they felt some restriction after a fill? Was it after a day or two, or a week or two?

Hippmom, twin is good, she's losing weight good. I wish I'd get where she is with the restriction thing. But I'll be patient.

Have a great and beautiful weekend.

Hi yall.

Glo, I feel a difference in about two weeks AFTER I have a fill. Some people feel it imediately. Some feel it sooner that I do. Don't give up, it's coming.

Shannon, I forgot about SPANKX. I need to get me some of them. Oh, and I threw up the other day. I had been sliming for a long time and finally, it all came up. Not a good thing, I promise. It was just the one time and I have been really careful since then, but throwing up is no fun without a band and worse with one.

I have a cold too. I think mine is more allergies than cold. But if we keep going to ball practice and out in the cold air, I will have a monster cold before long. We are in the playoffs now, and all the kids are tired. I hope none of them get sick just from practicing.

And Susan!!!!!! I don't ALWAYS stay in the box. I had some a bite or two from the top of a pizza last nite. It was so good I almost had to have a slice. Then I remembered......bread not good. No eat! lol

Teresa, how's the job? You can stop in on our meetings if you want to, I think. We would be glad to see you. I don't think it matters which meeting you attend, just so you do and you are one of their patients. Hang in there girl. It will get better.

Sugarbear, how are you? Hope the leg isn't hurting because of all the weather stuff. Is it raining up there still? There was a man in the office yesterday from Little Rock and he said it rained on him almost all the way to Texas. Have yall looked at the radar on the weather channel? That thing is just stalled on top of us. And you can see the edge of the system from our office. It is creepy looking. Clouds just hanging there and not moving. And just to let you know...... I ain't skeered of Susan. I think I can outrun her. lol ;)

Yall have a good day!

yea, skinny minny and half my age, lisa can outrun me, but i'll get her when she least expects if she aint careful!!!!

i've been a bad girl today i smoked ribs and eat some of them they were so tender they were falling off the bone omg they are good. also i cooked some chili and is good too yep i need a fill. i did all this cooking 'cause i am going to see the kids in dalllas and so i am taking them some food. i have to bring my granddog home for a couple of weeks 'cause my daughter is moving so sophie has to stay with us while she moves and i will be going back and forth over the next couple of weeks to help her with the move (mostly next week end) and then i will be off the first week in nov. so i take sophie back home then. my dogs don't much care for poor little sophie so it is always fun when she visits.

thanks lisa, I might see you at one of the meetings. I was wondering if this site had crashed ! I couldnt get on here all weekend. I bought a pair of Spanx online, a little dissappointed with it, it was just a pair of hose that is shorter. I like it but I thought it could have been cheaper. The band still rolls over my big tummy ! But.. it does get rid of panty lines but so does the legg panty hose with the built in panty. Oh well, guess I was hoping for a miracle !! LOL. The job is stressful so far, learning everything and meeting so many new people.

Have a good week, sat I made it to onderland but then gained it back sunday. I am not counting sunday since I had a fish fry for my dads birthday and I ate a little bit of everything. I was hoping all the running around and cooking might burn some of that away :faint:

oh yea... the BOX.. Will try better this week.

I couldn't get on this site either over the weekend. About the throwing up (virus) thing. I haven't had it and thank goodness I am not usually suseptable (sp) to it. I am a big sissy about throwing up. I still have some Phenergan from the LB surgery. It works great for me. Better than anything I have ever found. Of course if you can't keep it down, suppositeries would be the next best thing. I think they are by prescription. Wonder if we should have them on hand just in case.

Susan, I have an appointment the 12th also. What time is yours? Mine is 8:30.

Teresa, all that new stuff and people is stressful. I am sure it will calm down when you get all that newness under your belt. I think you are a special person to do what you do for a living. I think you will be fine with a little more time.

We also have a support group meeting that night in Texarkana. It is the second Mon. I go back to see Dr. Hilborn tomorrow a.m. I am hoping he turns me loose to start walking. I have taken myself out of the chair and gone to a walker. I am being careful not to bear too much weight on it.

My grandson turned 4 yesterday. Last night he started breaking out with what we think is chickenpox. I haven't seen him this morning but I am going to check on him after lunch. He didn't have a spot until late last night. He has a knot on his neck we noticed yesterday, towards the back but not on the back. Could that be something that comes with the pox? His doctor is on vacation til Wed. With the vaccine, most don't even get them. Poor little fella.

Hope all you newbies are doing well. Let us hear from you.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
