Texarkana Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Hey, I am Monel from Mineral Springs. Dr. Heiker banded me on 2-21-08. It has been a life changing experience to say the least. I have been very successful with the band so far. To date I have lost 164 pounds. I started my journey at 375 pounds. I can not wait to get below 200. I know with a lot of hard work and dedication to the band I will make it soon. I would like to invite any of you in my area to the Nashville support group if you can't make T-kana support. We meet on the third Mon. night of the month, 7:00 pm @ Bell's Gym in Nashville. We always have a great time. We invite everyone! Private message me if you would like further information.

Sexylips, I am so sorry lap-band has not been successful for you. My secrets are... staying in Betty Mae's box, lots of exercise, support group, and getting my fills as needed.

Good morning everyone~ I haven't been on in a while. Looks like we have some new people coming into the site. Glad to see them.

I have been meaning to go to the meetings in Nashville, but seems like I always forget about it.

I haven't been getting on much because I'm really not doing that great as far as losing. I've only lost about 45 lbs and I was banded over a year ago. I've had people ask me why my band failed me, but it didn't fail me, I failed it. I don't remember to drink enough during the day, I don't eat like I should and I have washed food down. I don't get the exercise I need. I know all the things I am doing wrong, I just can't seem to get my mind where it needs to be. I know that I am disappointing a lot of people, none more than myself. I am going to work on a support system and make more of an effort to engage the brain before the elbow & mouth! I have lost inches and 4 sizes. I only had 115 lbs I needed to lose, but it sure doesn't want to go!!

Hello Everyone!!! it has been a while since i posted but wanted to tell a funny story.

i went like 3 months and had only lost 2 pds ( through holidays and all) but i was still able to eat way to much. so i go in a couple of weeks ago and told Dr. K ... i can eat a whole whopper and want more. she told me the down falls to getting to big of a fill at a time. (she goes slowly for your benefit) anyways. i don't know how much she filled this time but she gave it to me and NOW my band is WORKING!!! heheheh. so hang in there esp those who haven't had many fills. ( i think that was around 6 or 7 for me)

I have been so down about my band and not losing, I didn't want to bring everyone down with me. I have gained several pounds back, but one the bright side...... I got a fill Monday and I hope to start shedding those again. Leave it to me to have to do things twice! lol

I promise to catch up with yall later. Time to get ready for work and school!

Yall have a great day and ......

Hi everyone! I have been away a long time too. I go for a fill the 17th. I feel really bad, I have gained back 15 pounds out of the 53 I lost. This has not been the great surgery that I thought it would be. I am very down on the band right now. I feel really stupid paying this much and being a failure at 1 yr and 6 months out. I keep paying that bill every month and wishing I could lose again. I cant wait for a new fill. I have started walking again. New job, traveling even more in my car makes this so hard. I havent given up but I defintely need a kick in the butt !! I hope all of you will keep inspiring me. I wish I could start over again.

Good luck everyone !!!! ITs been done, so I know I can do it too.!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
