  1. i am doing fine too. i still haven't lost all the weight but i do try to break those bad habits of mine. the band won't keep you from putting a cookie in your mouth lol
  2. i have used it since i went on the post op diet in August 08. my Dr wouldn't give me another fill last time. (i was telling him my eating routine) he said he thought i was using my band as a crutch... umm yeah thats why i got the thing. i was so angry. but now a month later i did do what he said. he got on to me for using the shakes. wanted me to eat every 4 hours. real food. so this month i did do what he said and it has started me losing again. ( have only lost 45 pds since surgery) as he explained to me, the shakes run right through that band. (but i felt full after having it) also it made my hair grow like crazy. ( i think from all the protein i added to it) anyway.. yes i love them but do try and eat some food also. :bored: Susan
  3. i have a 10CC band and have had 7 fills. i know most fills were very very small ones at a time. but i went in fussing the last time and she got this thing working! NOW i know it works. i really had given up.
  4. Hello there!! i am from N. Louisiana around Ruston. i was banded August 08 at P and S in Texarkana. i was beginning to wonder if it was going to work for me but since my last fill a week and half ago. its WORKING!!!!! they are great over there and follow you closely :thumbup:
  5. Sorry to hear about your back! I thought I was doing good because I walk about 2.5 miles 4 times per week but the Doctor said I should be running! I told him the only way I would run is if someone was chasing me with a knife so he said he will meet me at 6 am with a knife every morning!! lol. LOL Soontobe, now that was some funny stuff. he has a good sense of humor. loved that! but i think y ou are doing great!
  6. well i wasn't but my Dr suggested this band at wal mart for 8.77 and i can sit and stretch it over my head. it has seemed to start my weight loss again. so just a little will help. ( i have had some major back surgeries and can't do much)
  7. It is hard! but i finally have lost a little more and should get another fill next week. i feel i can still eat to much though. i am surprised i lost anything this month. maybe the next fill will help. hangin in there. it sure has helped to keep me encouraged reading that others are struggling with this too. not that i am happy about that, its just that at least i know i am not in this boat alone. thanks again you all!
  8. oh mine does that too. i usually have to come home and put on something (like a gown) that doesn't bind me in anyway. the port is sewn to a muscle. and by the end of the day mine is pulling and bothering me. not sure if this is the same as yours though.
  9. Have you been to the Dr lately? or called them?
  10. wow, what is your food secrets :w00t: i have major back problems so am not able to do much in the way of excercise but maybe you could give me some other tips, i have been a slow loser and i have stuck to the diet plan. i wished i knew why your port was sore. mine is still sore from my first fill a week ago.
  11. First off , WOW you have done so good losing that much in only 2 months time! mine got sore after my first fill. have you had a fill lately? it was just a thought :w00t: sorry i can't be more help. susan
  12. That is really AWESOME! YOu are doing great! i am glad he got it on the first try this time. CONGRADS!:cool2:
  13. i was attracted to this thread by the title and was wondering the same about myself. i know i haven't been banded as long as most of you but wanted to tell you that this has been a very encouraging thread i thought i would have lost more by now but i can see this will take time and the dieting isn't as easy as i thought it would be with the support of the band. but maybe it will get easier for me when i get to a good fill point. i really needed the encouragement from people that are also working with this. i just wanted to tell you all... Thank you for posting and being so honest on here. it really helps me. i may not always post but i do read alot of threads :cursing: Keep the faith! susan
  14. i wrote to the program director asking about the fill and if they do one sooner than a month. i ask some other things but she didn't reply to, but this is what she had to say and i thought others may find it interesting. Hi Susan. You may not have restriction after the first fill, and it may take a couple of weeks to tell and sometimes up to 4 weeks, so we do not fill sooner than 4 weeks. Everyone is different, has a different size stomach, and that is why we have to progress to what we consider your sweet spot where you are able to eat your 1/2 cup and are satisfied until your next meal. Just make sure that you use your saucer to eat and do not overeat and stretch your stomach before we get to that fill where you are feeling that restriction.
  15. well shucks.. now that several of you say you didn't get sore, i am wondering if they hit the port correctly. i have a bruise and its very sore and swollen. i think i will call them today. thank you all!!
