FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

Good luck on your first day back. I went back last week, it's hard to get all the food and liquid timed right. I try to drink a cup of Water before work, eat Breakfast in the car on the way in and then do what I can during the work day. On the way home I drink another cup or two of water, etc. You will have to find a schedule that works for you.

5 weeks out I was doing pretty good loosing the weight. Started out 263 down to 216. Seems like I hit a plateau. My only problem right now is that I'm feeling tired...even with the Vitamins. Anyone one having this issue...

Look how much you've lost! Of course your energy is low. I'm at 5 weeks post-op too, have lost 51 lbs. including pre-op diet. Once I moved from liquid to soft I gained 8 and then plateaued for a week. The last few days I've been losing 1 to 2 lbs a day. Just saw my endocrinologist yesterday. She said hang in there, to expect low energy when getting 700-800 calories a day. Once off soft, and off exercise restriction I hope to have more energy. Everybody's body seems to be a little different with plateaus and rate of weight loss. It's certainly an adventure! Hang in there and don't get discouraged.

Question for those who are working out.

I am starting at the gym (my loss is slow so I'm ready to get it going) and doing weights and cardio now.

When can we start doing abs and things of that nature? I did an ab machine...I did 5 and 3 sets each and it was fine. I started out slow and didn't use weights yet and it seemed good and no pain. I am 5 weeks out tomorrow. It felt so good to get in and work out hard(felt like a hard work out since I haven't been in a long time).

Question for those eating puréed foods- How much puréed food can you consume at a meal? I just ate 3oz of refried Beans --- and I think I should have stuck with 2! It took me a while but I think I pushed myself. (((First day on puréed)))

When I started pureed I was at 1 oz. I couldn't tell when I was full so I just stopped early. By the end of puree I was up to 3oz unless it was dense. And its all about trial and error I think. That's why I rather under eat. That feeling sucks!

When I first started soft, I maybe got down 1-1.5 ounces. After a week I was able to get down 3 ounces of Protein. However, it takes me up to 1 hour to do so.

I can totally relate. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and can't get enough sleep. I agree with everyone else that we just aren't getting enough calories in at this stage to sustain energy. In time it will improve...I hope lol.

No that's my starting weight. I was at 246 preop.

My surgery was 2/25. I seem to be losng at a steady 5 pounds per week. On my six month pre-op weight loss program (required by insurance) i was losing 3 pounds a week. I'm hoping when the weather improves (wil it ever?) I can increase my exercise. Even if my weight loss slows to 4 pounds a week, I'll reach my goal (getting under 200 lbs.) by the end of the year.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
