Feeling like I'm eating too much compared to everyone on here.

Sleeved 2/26.

My Dr. wanted me to work up to eating 1,200-1,400 calories. I'm only 3 weeks in, & can easily do this. I could probably eat more if I wanted to. That "full" feeling they told me that I'd start getting...I'm not really feeling it. My Dr. also told me that I'm fine drinking wine (not all the time, but a glass or 2 occasionally.) The wine hasn't bothered me either.

My weight loss is going really good. I started pre-op diet February 16. I'm down about 44lbs. in only 30days.

I'm still on pureed foods. Tonight for dinner I ate 4Oz chicken breast, 1/4C. Beans w/a little ground beef, 2T Sour Cream, 2T guacamole, 3T salsa, 2T shredded low-fat cheese, and 2 glasses of wine (30minutes before dinner).

That seems like a ton of food compared with all the people that say they can barely eat 1/2 Cup of food.

I've never had trouble losing weight, my problem has been keeping it off.

I guess I'm not doing anything the Dr. didn't say was ok, but I'm concerned about eating too much food & causing a leak. Should I be worried about a leak at 3 weeks?

I was sleeved 2/25 - exactly three weeks ago. I've lost 18 pounds since the surgery - so, six pounds a week.

I had already lost a total of 124 pounds on my six month pre-op diet (required by my insurance )and the two-week pre-op liquid fast.

If I can continue to lose 4 or 5 pounds a week, I'll reach my goal (under 200 lbs) by the end of the year.

Well' date=' daycare called and said there's an outbreak of stomach flu with the kids there. Guess that answers my question. Sorry everyone!

I've lost 4 lbs since yesterday morning thanks to this. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />[/quote']

I'll be three weeks postop tomorrow, down 30lbs since surgery. I had the same thing this last week. Vomiting, diarrhea, headache and nausea so bad the room was spinning. It lasted about three days but I'm still feeling weak and worn out from it. For about three days after I could only eat sf popcycles and Gatorade. I also took ammonium AD and it helped a lot. Just keep sipping fluids when you feel like u can again so you don't get dehydrated and if you feel like u can't you might need to go get some IV fluids for a boost. I pray you feel better soon, it's hard recovering from a major surgery and then the flu on top of it! You will feel better though, try and stay positive! Take care of yourself and God Bless!

First day back to work today. I haven't been up this early in awhile! And I can't have coffee until 2 months out. I'm tired and hope the day goes smoothly and quickly. Still getting over this stomach flu, but it seemed to mostly last 24 hours. What's really bothering me right now is that I took my pills (blood pressure, Migraine med, zoloft, Iron, and the acid reducer) on an empty stomach while getting ready and my stomach felt like it was going to implode. Just spent the last 20 minutes trying to not throw up, and nurse down some yogurt. Ugh, I won't be doing that any time soon again.

I work in a lab, so it's not strenuous. My big concern is getting enough liquids and food in. I've been doing fine on my liquids here at home, and eating some Protein every 3 hours. But at work, we have to change shoes, put on hairnet, safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, etc. It's kind of a hassle to go from the lab to the break room and back, and we can't have anything to eat or drink in the lab. Plus, when I'm actively working with samples, I'm not going to be able to just stop and go take a drink in the break room.

Well, if that's my biggest worry, I guess that's ok. :)

I've been wearing comfy things like PJ pants since my surgery (unless I go out), and was surprised at how loose my fat girl jeans are this morning! I'm going to have to hike them up over my muffin top rolls just to get them to stay up!

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
